Tumble dryer - Vented or Condenser?

Ours is giving up after 11 years, 2 belts and a few kicks. It seems hardly anyone stocks vented items these days and condensers seem to be "more efficent" on B ratings.

I've read somewhere that condensers don't get the clothes "as dry" or fluffy.

Can anyone who's had both recommend which is best.

Cheers dudes.

So do these heat pumps still dry OK, leave towels fluffy etc?

Honestly in my opinion no, I do prefer how towels out of my parents vented one come out vs the Samsung heat pump we’ve got.

However that things like 20yrs old and probably costs £3 an hour to run.

Can also get vented for £200

I can run my HP dryer all day for less than 1 hour use of vented one.

Seriously the savings are worth the outlay getting a HP dryer.

I went the extra for A+++

I’m now after a tumble dryer as mines squeezing like a pig getting bummed (I’d imagine?)

Are the heat pump actually worth it?

What do people recommend?

Cheers.

Mines be excellent & hardly notice it on the E usage.

We got a samsung heatpump one. It has AI and uses an app. Would recommend
"Samsung Heatpump AI"

If Clothes.Wet = True
Dry.Time ++ 1
End If

A timely thread as our Bosch HP dryer just shat it's power control module, two weeks before the warranty expired. Engineer came out and replaced it today though so hopefully we've got another couple of cheap years drying still in it.

Been looking at these myself, i remember the days i used to look at women and cars... :ROFLMAO:

Are their any features that make some better than others?

Looked at heat pumps ones when changed ours and couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for a shitty appliance so got a normal condensing one instead for about £250.

A full load to dry uses about a quid of electric. Even if a heat pump one uses 1/2 the power, I’d need to use it around 1100 times to break even. Given it gets used once a week, it would take just over 21 years to break even.
