Twin carbs and ignition timing?

Could anyone advise on the cheapest and easiest route for handling the ignition timing on a mk1 1.8 16v running twin carbs?

Basically at some point in the future i'll get a decent aftermarket ecu for the ignition side of things but right now i just need a cheap easy solution for the timing so i can still use the car.

Thanks

mini-valver

I've got 40's on my Nova and the dizzy/rotor arm takes car of it. On the Valvers they are un-adjustable (Can't turn the dizzy to advance or r****d) so you should'nt have a problem with any of it!

Thanks for the info :), i thought that when you turn the dizzy it just sets the base timing but you still need something to advance and r****d the ignition when the engines under different loads.

I was thinking about that... which brings another question, will the ecu go into a limp home mode?

Does anyone know what sensors are used to control ignition?

I'm sort of coming up with another plan using a non injection ignition ecu which uses a signal from a sensor on the flywheel and vacuum pressure. :)
