Tyre Dressings

Ive moved away from Megs Tyre Gel,as i find it flings to much crap up the side of the car & can attract some dust.

So looking for a nice dressing that's not to glossy,i guess with endurance not to worried as the car gets cleaned on a reg base.So just wanted to see the lastest recommend products.

I'm testing Adams tyre dressing. I say test, I've applied it on the drive after a wash. My first off opinion. It seems good, but.

I use autosmart highstyle in work applied with a brush. It's cheaper, easy to apply and looks good.

If I had run out of both I would reach for the highstyle.

Just an opinion.

I have CarPro Perl but i want to mainly use that for trim & get a focused tyre product.

Also bought 303 aerospace for interior plastics and people say for tyres.

I found it was good for the former.

Another fan of Gyeon Rim here. Provides a more subtle satin finish compared to some of the more glossy products out there, which may or may not be a good thing. Smells great too.

Used CG for many years but longevity isn't so good compared to newer offerings.

It shouldn't if you wipe it afterwards.

All 4 of my tyres got bitten by fox cubs when using megs tyre gel recently so I won't be using that again! I also lost a brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport to the same fate after applying the dressing previously.

The ones that i use regular are Gyeon tyre,Swissvax pneu which are both superb

...and one that I am trying out now 26JPN Hydro tyre which so far is on par with Gyeon Tyre leaves a satin look which is fully dry to the touch in approx 4 minutes after application, I’m just testing the longevity side of things now but so far it’s holding up pretty well 3 weeks after i applied it...

Another vote for Gtechniq, they do 2.
T1 - Tyre Dressing and T2 Tyre & trim.
T1 is like a very thin white water, really thin and easy to apply. More than durable enough for what i think you're after.
T2 is still water based but a clear gel, almost like washing up liquid consitency. A bit more effort to apply but is more robust and a bit more durable.

Both products are all i use for tyres these days.

Buff off the tyre gel afterwards, leaves a non greasy looking finish too.

Or try Perl 1:3 and apply it twice and then buff off. That leaves a good satin finish but isn't as durable as Meg's tyre gel

Gyeon Tire or Carbon Collective Sateen

Both of those will last 3-4 weeks easy.

I was confused cleaning the car where this new mist of crap had appeared on bodywork above rear arch. I've just started using megs tyre gel so this makes sense now 😂 will try wiping it next time otherwise it's getting binned!

Gyeon one for me. I had Gtechniq T2 and found the Gyeon much better. Going to try Perl next if I ever get through this Gyeon one that is.

I really like carpro perl, leaves a superb finish,but it just cannot last as long as Gyeon or Pneu does,its still worth a definite try though as being water based it will leave a very pure satin finish without the sling.,.

Gtechniq T2 is very good and dont sling. Soft99 tyre wax looks interesting

T1 for me. All the below have it on.

Deep clean tyre first - I’ve just started using Gyeon tyre cleaner. Apply thinly then as Kyle says buff gently; I usually leave it an hour minimum. No sling.

Gyeon Tyre is the same as Fireball Ultimate Tyre Coating - less gloss and almost as durable as T1.

I saw a video that the type of tyre you have can affect what product your using on the lenth it lasts, think it was on Forensic's channel.

Me too I've been using the Gyeon Tyre and very pleased on the product, as mentioned it lasts about 3 ish weeks.

Definitely - on my cars Continental are a pig, dressing never seems to sit nicely. PS3 and Bridgestone way nicer.

I’m still using the bottle of endurance I bought many years ago!! Over the years I’ve used many different ways to apply it but my latest purchase of this CarPro applicator https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/carpro-tyre-dressing-applicator makes applying just the right amount of product easier!

I bought a stuff brush and also used some $hit shifter I use in my bike. It cleaned the tyres really well...

I find Billberry wheel cleaner on a brush cleans the tyres nicely before applying any product. The other issue with Megs endurance is it builds up on the tyre and goes pretty sticky and messy after a while. If your tyres have a lot of texture on the sides, it can be a real pain to clean off.

Megs super degreaser is awesome for cleaning tyres. Spray on, let it dwell and then rinse off. The amount of brown stuff that comes off is mental.
