Undoing shock/hub bolts

  130i Road, 172 Track
Hey fellas. I am fitting my Sportlines (rears are done) and am having trouble getting the bolts out of the front shocks/hub, although I have gotten all of the nuts off, no problems.

I have followed fubar's & crispy's guides & they just mention putting on lots of WD40 & using a rubber mallet. I have done both of these but they are well stuck! They are not rusted on or anything as my car is 2005 model RS 182 Cup-pack.

One suggestion I've heard is to put the nuts back on & hold them tight while undoing the BOLT. The theory is that this will drive the bolt FORWARD and then finish with a few taps with the rubber mallet. I will be trying the tonight as I have left WD40 on the bolts for 2days.

Any other suggestions I can try? A quick search didn't turn up any info on such a specific question!

Thanks in advance.

spin the bolt then t**t f**k out of it, rubber hammer will do sod all you need a proper one, just pop a nut on the end of the bolt or you'll damage the thread

When I did mine it was a right f**ker.
A hammer and a bit of brute force sorted it.
I found getting the bolts back in again was the hardest part.

All done guys. Thanks for the tips. A hammer & a mate putting a bit of downward pressure on the disc did the trick!
