i argee with you about the looks and sound, amd the desirability, but they arent that sh*t hot in terms of performance/handling
this is my point, in my opinion its a very expensive drivers car
The cup boys were absolutley demolising the V6s at the recent Brands Hatch track day
ok so the Cups were all modified, but this is where my story thickens!!!
some V6 owners get a bit high and mighty (pissed off) that theyve spent £23ishK on a V6, and a clio cup with about £5Kish worth of work can eat it for breakfast on track!
Im not having a dig or owt, and i am very jealous that i dont own a V6!!!
but in "bang for buck" terms IMO the V6 isnt worth while (new anyway, second hand is a different matter) If it had 300bhp std, then yes awesome car, but theyre under powered, which is a crying shame
hardy ha, your driving reminds me of Maureen off that Britains sh*test drivers
They are, er, acquainted!Quote: Originally posted by Vee Six on 18 June 2005

the clio in the video is 216bhp (throttle bodied, megane/williams/valver hybrid)
It is nice, 216bhp = 28% increase in power, But I would rather have my V6 with a 28% increase in power (322bhp) than a cup with the same 28% increase.... lets try and keep std v std... and in that, the V6 255 is the fastest Clio Renault have made....period.
....but this V6 Verses other Clios is very boring, I doubt that V6 owners would want to downgrade to a Willy or a cup and I doubt that Willy owners could afford a V6 255....
Simon.
You know it sunshine...... I have chewed my brother up and spat him back out in my car when it comes to handling! The Cup which im sorry to say, is in the higher league! Take a look at all the brands vidsQuote: Originally posted by Fred2001Dynamic on 17 June 2005
sorry ill rephrase,
a cup will own your ass on track!!!!
que Yaaser, Yozza, Chris, Newms, Nev, Loony etc etc etc etc
The thing is, Simon, my mates Westfield cost him £2000 (1989 chassis with Escort GTI engine from 1998) and has 135 bhp & weighs a tiny 500kgs. It is like lightning around a track, but how many of us spend any real time on a TIGHT RACETRACK? This track thing is nonsense. Yes, I love the occasional track day, but as with anyone else, it is OCCASIONAL.All the V6 owners I know have a HUGE smile on their faces when driving there V6s, not one is pi**ed off by the money well spent, as you claim??
I doubt anyone that has a V6 would want a cup with £5k of mods anyway???
I would rather have a V6 with £5k of mods any day...lol
Simon.

What everyone is forgetting is the average age of V6 owners is around 300, their reaction times are slower than us younger 172/cup/182 drivers so on track days they are bound to be slower!

Right now I dont care what car I have as long as it has Air Con.... oh that counts the cup and Willy out then I think?..lol
My car is saying that its 32 degrees outside....
Simon.
No air-con., in UK in summer, is NO GO!
UGH!

How many highly modded williams owner would swap their car for a V6 (please form an orderly queue and no pushing to the front please)!
not 1 of them would want a Vee

go and chat to those boys
I wonder if their opinion would change if one turned up outside their front door, and they were offered the chance to drive it & then decideQuote: Originally posted by Fred2001Dynamic on 19 June 2005
