valver with air con

ok people there is a 16v (phase 1) on autotrader website, its a blue one and the write up says it has air con.

a few question are how and where did they get it from?

(does it belong to any one on here)

ive never heard of this before and im sure it wernt a factory option.

i have no idea how to post up a link to the photo and description of the car i just done a search on 16v between 3000-5000.

is this a rare car?

I think air con was an option on early C57D,s (1.8 16v) - lets face it though - it aint much use in this climate. Air con actually decreases the performance of your car - only slightly. The more auxilary pumps you have on an engine - the more the power is diverted away from the wheels ( the power is actually transfered by the crank shaft pulley to drive belts which power these auxilary pumps) - like i say its only a very small fraction of power you may loose. So - who needs air con ? ( + if it goes wrong it can be bloody expensive - especially on a 10 yr old clio)

according to the advert its a 1995 car, with leather and air con.

but i havent got a clue how to show the description of it +the picture

I suspect its retrofitted as it wasnt a factory option for the UK market (though other markets did have it). It certainly isnt an option in the 1993 and 1995 brochures I have for the 16v.

I guess Renault may have offered it one point for a short period of time? They like doing that - like with rare colours that were options for a few months and then not (how many Tungsten Grey or Brooklands Green 16Vs do you see?).
