Not updated this for a while!

So dad ended up having a near miss with a car on the way home from work and they swiped his mirror off!!

Luckily my M3 mirrors were silver so dad reimbursed me for them and I fitted them to his car!

Managed to pick up some xenon headlights with the light control module for very cheap so will fit them this weekend!

Bit of a faff with many things on the BMW though, tamper dot, no self levelling and coding etc but should all be ok in the end..

Think I'm going to have a go at retrofitting some projectors and xenons into my lights.. Might be easier than messing about with coding etc lol how much was cheap if you don't mind me asking?

Picked up the headlights and the light control module for £250!

The MOT law isn't as specific as N IRL yet so as long as they're level I can't see a problem as such.

Only thing will be getting someone with PA soft to take the tamper dot off the speedo once I've fitted the new LCM!

Ive got retrofitted xenons in mine and they don't self level or have washers. Had no problems with the MOT in January, wasn't even mentioned.

That's good news then Tom! Ive got washers as standard anyway so guess it's just the coding I've got worry about!

So Ive spent 4 hours in the rain this afternoon, my back f**king hurts and I lost a few screws, took effort to get the lights sitting properly and the trim underneath is not 100% !

Even plugged the new LCM in and nothing! I have the tamper dot which I knew would happen but the xenons either flicker or stay on, indicators stay on with them as sidelights and the plug is different so I don't actually have sidelights!

Going to watch DrWho and get pissed now but two pics from today's efforts..

Next update will be MOT and then Inspection 2 after that!

Thanks Chris, been told these are bi-xenon hence the spare plug on the ballasts!

Still doesn't help my situation but hopefully will just get the garage to finish it all off and get them to refit the lights so they're sitting properly!

Sometimes they're on like below with no problems, other times they flicker like mad! Will be happy once all sorted though

They'll just need re-programming from what I've read. Even with the updated LCM, some cars still need it re-programming.

Thanks Jon, took it to my local specialist (albeit not a BMW specialist) and he wasn't confident enough to be able to undertake the programming side of things so I'm going to search for someone in Bristol area to sort it all out!

Cheers Rob, was a mission and a half, lots of swearing and shouting bit unheard of in the cul de sac but they are in! Cracked one of the indicators giving it a whack so a new set of those will be on order! Having to drive round with foglights at night at the moment (proper BMW wanker)

Looking good! my mate did the xenon conversion on his and said it was the best mod he'd done..

That LSB interior though :| It's the only thing that puts me off buying a LSB M3!

What has happened in 10 months?


So much! Although not in terms of car modifications!


Anyway, recent things happening/happened to the car and future plans:


Passed MOT with brake line corrosion as an advisory
Sold Xenon headlights as nobody was able to fully help with the retrofit
New headlight washer cover (looks like the car has a black eye)
M sport grey mats (birthday present from the gf)
Black BMW roundel on the front!
Dustcaps nicked, they were only plain silver ones but still!


Plans:
Smoked indicators (again)
Gloss black grilles
Scorpion exhaust
Carbon bonnet
Carbon CSL bootlid
Rear black BMW roundel


But, most important mod of all was the Recaro baby seat!


Also passed 111,111 miles with ease, nearly on 112,000 now!

Cheers, have some braided brake lines in somebody's garage somewhere I just need them fitted before next MOT in June.

I'll have to keep you updated, baby is due end of May but girlfriend has two older children and they're fine at the moment, she has a Zafira so it's mainly for me just to take the little one out.

Cheers, have some braided brake lines in somebody's garage somewhere I just need them fitted before next MOT in June.

I'll just see how bad they are, probably sand the rust off them and apply some grease. Job jobbed.

The car passed it's MOT fine with advisory on rear tyres and brake lines again!

Baby was born in April and although 7.5 weeks early she was perfectly fine! 3lb 8oz but now she's well on her way to 9lb!

I started a new job in March and now have a company Passat (exec model) to drive around in! Picked it up in the second week of March with 11 delivery miles on it and now it's got well over 12k!! Busy old time.

In car terms, the BMW has suffered, not neglect but it's certainly not had the attention it should have done!

The black BMW roundel from above was rubbish, it lasted a short while before breaking so I bought another one. Have also bought some black indicators again and plan to do the grilles gloss black when i get some time!

Think the BMW is on a little over 113k now and the outer door handle let go on me the other day so it's currently in the garage getting sorted out!
