Filmed at Surrey Rolling Road today...

Mine made a nice 179 bhp - though the bloke said it didn't count :( so I have to settle for 177 bhp instead.

I hate watching this close up but feel compelled to...it always feels like the engine is about to implode...

The main power enhancing mod is the fact that it's had a very hard driven life at countless trackdays and 77,000 miles covered to date.

Apart from that I have;
  • R-sport ECU
  • ITG foam panel filter
  • K-Tec Stealth exhaust
  • Yozzasport decat
  • a loving caress from Rentech Mike every 6,000 miles from new
  • has only ever been run on Optimax/V-power from new
I genuinely think there's some substance to the theory that 172 Cups had their engines/components cherry-picked originally. Why else would the consistently out perform non-172-Cup Renaultsports with like for like mods?

They outperform as they've less Power spapping bits on them.

The Cup was to cut not increase costs. If they've had picked it would have upped the cost can you imagine best testing every engine?
