Well i’ve gone an done it!!

Yes, Saturday,
took the leap and ordered a cup was gonna go for a silver one, only one left in the country!
!!!!! but would have to wait till after xmas, plus i llike the way the blue is associated with cups, i also took out a normal 172 for comparison and was very impressed, loved the interior and extra toys but had to go for the cup i like the extra va va voom

So lets hope i like it, also i will have to get myself ready for plenty of dealer visits to get it sorted when it breaks every week, also whats the run in period on these cars???

Rick:)

run in period depends on who you talk to, but youll get answers like... thay are bench tested just jump in it and rag it....... keep it below 5000rpm for 3-500 miles, i went for the first and know the car ifs falling apart...your choice...have fun which ever you choose..

Rick
Rick, 52 reg, 13000 miles, falling apart quicker than it can be stuck back together..... new knock sensor, new engine wiring loom, new throttle, new exhaust back section, new mounts for gearbox, engine, and exhaust...and latest, the bolt in the gearbox mount snapped........................... apart from all that its fine... lol ........ its not all bad i know two peeps with them locally, Macs had a few probs, but Neil hasnt had any, i think mine was a friday car.

Best to keep to the reno recommendations, which is 650 miles below 3.5/4K revs. After that you can blast it, but dont expect to get top banana performance for 2500 miles.

From wht ive heard on here, maxing it from day one give great laughs but murders your engine very quickly and are paying for it now with cars that sound and run like diesels!

Wont take you long to run it in, ive only had mine a week and 2 days and slapped 400 miles on it already!

Gone for Iceburg? Good Choice! Myself and Jon_r made the same decision...I ran mine in for the first 600 miles. Nothing over 4k. Seems to be running fine now...very happy with it. Only a couple of common problems which the warrenty is there to sort out. Nothing to worry me.

Just have to wait now! But happy for you dude, i remember how i felt when i got mine! Welcome to the Club!

Got mine in Blue, so NO making me drive fast if you spot me. Theres a few others from round our way on here isnt there? Have you put any sounds in your cup?

Yea ive seen you about! Im sure i saw a girl driving it, and a bloke the next. heh!

Make you drive fast!?? I wouldnt do that, may invite which would be rude not to except but wouldnt make you!;)

havent put the sounds in it yet...but have got some light weight plans for some good sounds! Just dont want to mess up weight with a big stereo. Need to keep it light for the fun factor.

I think theres about 6/7 of us around this area. Would be nice to find out!
