Well this sucks..... (Vacuums)

This. Have both, bloody good suck. Will not die.

JL dont have any Henry's by us so the search is postponed.

I might have to go look a this Miele. Its a shame they dont do Hoover test drives!! You cant gain much from looking at it in a shop. I assume they're also good for hard floors?

Henry is absolutely superb, had dysons etc etc, but Henry tops the lot of them, he takes any job on, even dust out the fire without clogging and other stuff which absolutely destroys your bagless vacumes. Massive capacity bag, cheap to buy and replace.........no contest.

Ive got 1 for home, and 1 for the shop.....and hes always smiling!

A natural salesman.

But more importantly - have you custom sprayed it? If not, pull your finger out! haha. I think they'd look good in a pearlescent purple.

I see with the bags you can buy a massive cloth one that you can simply empty rather than replacing the bags all the time. Im going to accessorize this thing to the hilt.

I have one of these (i think) in my terrace house, fine on carpet and tiled floor:

At the house I have one of these (I think), again fine on carpet, all of downstairs it wood. Funky nozzle is funky and useful:
http://www.sebo.co.uk/domestic-vacuum-cleaners/uprights/x4-pet/

All the cleaning firms (about 8) in our buildings (around 150) use Henrys, make of that what you will.

I got a Miele. If you search on YouTube there are loads of reviews, it's really good and it wasn't cheap but it feels more substantial than the Dyson.

Yeah a little bit when it's got a new bag in it.
It'll not the easiest to manoeuvre but it works well & that's what I wanted most.

Anyone have any experience with Robot Vacuums?

I'm guessing you get what you pay for?

Looking at a mop/sucker combo that will look after itself for long periods, so ideally will have a cleaning/charging station.

Any thoughts on the ones you currently have?

Also needs to integrate with Home Assistant ideally for Project Automate 2025 :)

5/10 fairly useless but has a good knowledge of Space Corps directives

This is ours. Doesn’t mop though but does a pretty good job of vacuuming the entire downstairs whilst avoiding objects.

Comes with a decent 5 year warranty which the majority of others do not.

Can I go backwards in technology?
We are after a new mains powered upright to replace an old Dyson. I’ve kept it going for years, but spares are getting harder to source and it owes us nothing.

The Dyson ball seems to be their only upright these days.
Are Sharks any good? Or Vax?
We have a dog so needs to suck like a crack whore.

We have a Shark after having 2 Dysons. Absolute garbage and wouldn't recommend.

We brought our Shark on the back of the good reviews. I can't beleive any are genuine!

Our upright Miele has lasted 14years and is great. It does weight a tonne

Mrs has Dyson V12 or 15 & Dyson big ball with cyclone/pneumatic head both excellent.

I have both cordless and corded sharks and corded and cordless Dyson.

The sharks have good suction but are so HEAVY both corded and cordless.

I prefer the Dysons personally.

Did you buy one in the end?

I am considering one for downstairs as it si 100% tiled and open so could be an ideal scenario.

Wanted a mop and vacuum in one.

This has good reviews:

But £650.00.... But flipside is I don';t want to spend an amount on something that will just be s**t...

That Eufy does look good, probably the one I'd go for. We've got a cheapish Chinese one that hoovers and mops but the mop has to be placed and removed manually and the water filled manually which is not ideal. Hoovering works well but it doeant have any AI tech so just sucks up everything in its path 😂

sorry missed this, I've done many many hours of YT watching and have settled on the Switchbot S10.

Mostly because it has a docking station you can plumb in under your kickboard on the sink. It then uses that to clean and empty/top up its fluids. Advantage of this is that I've read a lot of the docking stations that hold liquid can stink if you don't change the water often.

Also then has a docking station to charge and empty the bag.

Will be buying in the next few days and will update on how good it is.

@seb almost a week in so far and I like it, you need to understand its limits but if you have large clear areas it does a brilliant job of mopping and vacuuming. I can do the hallway, Living room and kitchen/dining room x2 in one charge on full mega mop and suction. I've got it set to do two sweeps of the downstairs at 11am everyday. Make sure the doors are open and the kids toys and anything else off the floor, go out to the office and come back to it complete. It also returns a couple of times to clean the mop during this run.

Now the downsides.....
Living room is a deep pile rug, I've had to set this as a no go zone as it does get itself stuck, it can do it but occasionally you need to go in and pick it up, put it back down which I don't want to do.
Also which is a bit of a pain is the front and back doormats get sucked up. For now I've set these as no go zones but I've read you can reduce suction on certain areas and it overcomes this.

Biggest gripe is 70 days maintenance free it was sold as. Not the case. Also yearly maintenance kit is £99 a year for bags, brushes, rollers etc. But I guess that is up to you how often you change them for peak performance.

Bit disappointed I paid £500 when it was £400 about 6 weeks ago but I could probably hung around for a sale if I was patient.

Reminds me of this tweet I saw :ROFLMAO:

Still keep meaning to buy a 'better' one than the cheap one I bought to try them out, but it does the job well for where I wanted it to clean.

Not so fussed on having the mopping stuff automated as I don't do the mopping that much (but maybe if it was more hands off I'd have it do it more...), but having an emptying station would at least save me the bother of doing that.

Tempted to get one to stick on the upstairs landing for the carpets up there, at the moment I take it upstairs and get it to do what it can before the battery dies.

Like you I didn’t mop that often but I think that was just because of the effort. World of difference with the robot mopping every day, looks so much better. With it plumbed to the mains it is no extra effort, fills, empties, cleans and dries the mop itself.

Mine is mid range price I’d say, I’d love to see how good a £1000 one is now for comparison

Yeah like the sound of that auto fill thing.

Also on the service kit, is there anyone on Amazon selling non official ones, might be a fair bit cheaper. For mine I just bought whichever set was cheapest, thought after 2 years I'd better replace the roller/filters etc rather than just keep cleaning them up.

Not anything I can see, just the official switchbot one.

I’ll see how much performance drops before I decide how often I give it a service

Want a second hand barely used one for just such a duty?

I bought one for Berlin, hasn’t come out of the box since I moved home.

@seb don't bother. It no longer mops, can't refill or something when trying to dock to the water station. 80% of the time he no longer docks to the cleaning station. His cleaning ability has gone from spot on to the equivalent of me with a vacuum.

I'm going to raise all this with Switchbot but I need to submit 11 different types of videos and photos as evidence.
