hi all - could really do with some help please.
the exhaust on my 182 is an aftermarket put on by the previous owner - a Powerflow S/S jobbie. It's started hanging lower and bouncing around recently so I thought i'd have a look and replace the rubbers...after looking, and searching through other exhaust threads on here i don't think I have all of the mounts in place!? i want to sort it but rather than bodge it (like it looks the previous owner has) i'd like to do a proper job.
I've taken some pics if it helps at all, going from front of the car to the rear this is what there is now...
The 1st I come across is this small triangular type rubber on a stud after the cat, and i think a silencer...
from Nearside (passenger side)
from Offside (drivers side)
rubber is splitting and so will need to be replaced soon.
2nd is after the exhaust has gone over the torsion beam, where the exhaust pipe splits 1 into 2, and is located slightly offside of centre...
looks like there should be two oval rubbers to hook two hangers through? only 1 hanger and rubber present.
3rd is located on the nearside, to hang the nearside silencer from
2 more triangular rubbers, need to replace one rubber and put a hanger in place.
4th is in the centre but supports the offside silencer (you can see the 2nd mount again in the background)
With the help of a mate, i've removed the offside silencer. all that was holding it up was a bodged split rubber (below), screwed onto one of the four studs you can see in the top left of the image above...
and a hanger (which had broken off)
A few questions i've got are...
What is a standard or other aftermarket system supported by and where?
Is there supposed to be a proper mount attached to the four studs above, which supports the offside silencer?
Is this the one which people have repaired with cable ties and silicone etc in other threads?
Where can i get replacement rubbers from?
Sorry, big post, but thanks for reading it! Any help massively appreciated guys.
