what cams are these? (still in engine)

  Qashcow
bit of a long shot, aimed at Fred/Danny and the rest

I have been told this car has 438 cams fitted, is there any visable difference to be seen while still in the engine? had a look down the oil filler on a 182 and it had different markings on the shaft but didnt know if these 172 cams afe different as standard anyway.

managed to get a couple of pictures of my engine, and once again, i know its a long shot...

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
look standard to me. Very much doubt they're 438s, look at the oil staining on the lobe, that takes quite a long time to get like that

Took my stock cams out today, they look just like that, small oil staining lines on the lobes just like yours. I would say they are standard too.

Possibly was once, I bought it off a forum member but he had it a bit more than a year but it hasn't been used. He had been told it had 438 cams but obviously not. I'd priced up the stripping of the car as if they were standard cams so haven't lost anything

well 438's have only been available for less than 6 months, so he was never told that when he bought it

How much is a head with no cams worth? Had a pm earlier and he already has 421's to go in it. Which means I can pull these cams out and find out for definite.

May take you up on it Jay :)
