im going to look at a 52 plate cup tomorrow with 40 thou on it. it looks pretty immaculate and the guy sounds like hes pretty genuine. anyway its up for 6200 and i want it. having recently wrapped my 172 up(trying to sleep while driving-bad idea) i really dont want to buy something thats gonna be a lil b**ch in the garage all the time, and should i expect better mpg on the cup than a normal leathered up heavy as hell 172? cheers all.

i reckon there all obout the same i get round about the same mpg in my 182 as my mate gets in his 172 cup

I have a friend who might be selling his 52 plate cup with 25k on it. Just serviced, MOTd and taxed. Brand new front tyres and pads. He wants 7000 for it. Its in very good condition and I say that as an Honest CS member.

that pretty cheap for a cup! and i doubt it will do better mpg.

Leathered up heavy as hell 172 returns pretty good mpg mate.....mine rarelt goes below 30mpg even when giving it some stick.

Mind you, I come from owning a car which probably did low 20s at the best of times so it's all relative.

You are going to have exactly the same issues with a 172 cup and a 172...

Mechanically yes but I very much doubt the petrol cunsumption is going to differ that much.
