What Exhaust for 182 ?

My exhaust centre section has gone just after the CAT and the backbox is on its way out and so I need a new exhuast from CAT back.

The standard is too expensive so what are the options?

I want one that maybe is a little more beefy than standard, but nothing over the top.

Any help much appreciated!

My cars is getting taken away in a couple of days with the insurance people, I have a mongoose exhaust that nice and raspy and not boomy at all, yours and a bit of cash will do.

Will try and buy back but admiral are harsh.

My exact problem mines gone in the same two places the centerbox and back box , ive ordered a k-tec/ janspeed full stainless , looks really good has good reviews and not a bad price compared to most !

Just a quick one whilst this thread is running.....is there any major performance/sound differences between the Ktec standard and 'Ultra' type (centre silenced sport version), or is it more to do with the build quality?

the janspeed systems and the K-tec ultra systems are both made by Janspeed, but are rather different in design. Don't like the ultra personally.

completely different. Depends what you want from an exhaust. If you want near standard sounding then the Janspeed is the one. I fitted one today.
If you want a performance system I would always go for the Piper.

and it fits straight on to the standard cat mate !!

i have ordered a sportex exhaust and a scorpion decat bit of pipe the other day for my 182 will let you know what its like next weekend heard a mixed bag of reviews about the company tho by people putting there exhaust on 1.2 punto's and that, but to be fair any exhaust on a 1.2 punto will sound s**t IMO, heard a couple of good reviews on the 182, will let you know.

I got scorpion rs192 decat back sounds slightly louder than standard normal driving and on cruise control. Sounds louder when booting it a nice roar, not too chav.

I would polybush your dogbone mount too. Before I polybushed mine the rear of the mid section box was splitting at the seam weld adjoining the skit plate due to excess movement. Got it rewelded at longlife for a tenner and polybushed dogbone to reduce movement seems to have worked ok so far.

Have a look on youtube at 182 exhausts, see which sound you like, then opt for that.

I was set on a decatted Milltek before I even bought my Clio.

Not as loud as some tho. Someone in a LY 182 came past me the other day - No idea what that had but it made mine sound like an electric car!

do you have a cat fitted? de-catted they're pretty loud, but they're a large bore so you have to expect that.

Yeah, mine has a cat. It's not obnoxiously loud by any means but I'm a bit picky/sensitive, particularly at low revs or idling.

As I said tho, it sounds absolutely superb when pressing on and it looks great.

Awesome glad you like it mate !! excatly same as what i went for been on a week now and i still cant get enoigh but not too loud
