What Exhaust Should I go for?

Clio 182 - due for a 36k Service, MOT, Road Tax, New Springs (Eibach Group Buy) so I thought WHY NOT GO FOR AN EXHAUST seeing as I'm emptying my bank account!

BUT WHICH ONE?

I don't need a power gain (well not really)
I don't need to scare my neighbours whilst pulling in to the driveway
I want something that sounds good without sounding chav - esp on the motorway.

My budget - well upto £350 incl fitting (I'll have to pay extra on the insurance too)

I've heard of Blueflame, the new GDI exhaust (but have heard things about their pricing, i.e. higher than it perhaps should be) and a whole load of others...

WHich one would you say? Any thoughts would be real helpful. (I'm from the Herts area)

I would say the new GDI one , its fantastic, and i know how much andy pays for them and they are not overpriced at all!

i love mine, puts a rite smile on my face

Hmmm it's seems a bit pricey though? or maybe it isn't for what it is.

How much was the exhaust all in incl labour - if you don't mind me asking? :)

I have got the Milltek one, very good system. Not loud on the motorway at all, you only know its there when you put your foot down. At a constant speed it is quiet, but sounds nice when building up the revs. Only downside is that it can be too quiet, and that the sound of the engine is still the major noise you can hear in the car, when giving it some. (not a bad noise mind)

Another Q!

Is it best to get the exhaust done before or after the MOT? Should I get all the work done before or after the MOT?

Does it make any difference...?

How much is the Milltek going for... any good places I can get it done in the Herts,Beds, Bucks area?

The Milltek is actually discounted at the moment on the K-tec website, now £360 including VAT. I bought mine from there and got it fitted at a local garage for £35. I don't know of any places in your area supply and fit them.

hmm.. decisions decisions.. well it looks as though it's the GDI exhuast - a bit over my budget though. Oh well, it's not as though a total of £750 and £1000 are any different is it :)

'Think of the fun,' I hear you say!

Cheers guys

wise choice imo, it's more than some other systems like powerflow and magnex... but once those fall to bits, start blowing and you cant stand the chavvy rasp... well, it pays for itself lol

I've got the car booked in for Wednesday! The GDI stealth 182 exhaust it is! I'm only the second person to have it... (?) So I'll post some pics and a video as soon as I'm back to keep you all up-to-date!

I only want it when I'm thrashing the car, otherwise don't need the whole neighbourhood to know I'm home.

Milltek does seem okay and price is quite good.
