Under that alcantara (glued to cardboard) is the internals of a wireless charger. You can buy them off ebay for under a tenner. The wires run through the panel gap into the centre console where the chargers circuit board is connected to a USB cable. That's plugged into the lighter as normal then.
Nice idea - i like it.
Does it interfere with radio reception or sound ?

Got it ready for its MOT retest. Rear number plate bulb replaced. Refit the legal front number plate. Sort the airbag resistors out after fitting my OMP wheel. Service front right caliper, sticky piston. Needs a new o/side CV gaitor but can't be arsed to do it myself (at the moment anyway).

  M2 Comp
Stripped my Sachs dampers and degreased them ready for a refurb at BG Motorsport. Looking forward to having shiny powder coated dampers... the bill not so much!

  Track 172 Cup
Dropped the oil and put new filter on ready for track day next week and then fitted the spray washer jets. Oh and one of those magnetic sump plugs from Opie.

  Track 172 Cup
Just had my 888 fitted to a spare set of wheels ready for Oulton park on Tuesday. Going too take my Maxogen off later on and see how dirty it is (if I can be bothered lol)

Port and polish job on a C2 head.

Cleaned the other halfs car. Karcher has given up the ghost so no snow foam and didn't have time to give it the full treatment unfortunately. Treated all the plastics on the car. She's happy with it though so I can't complain

Before and after pictures (yes I know how annoying the paint peel is. I keep telling her to get it sorted but she isn't bothered by it :astonished:

Yes and no. I love my induction kit!

The sabelt wheel looks great and I wanted to get it retrimmed with perforated leather and blue alcantara strip on top but it was going to be £150+ I'd imagine. The wheel cost that too and I didn't want to plod that much into a wheel at the time. The omp was a nice wheel but it just didn't look as good as the sabelt.

That looks pretty rough to start with that ST170 head.
Lots needs to take out, I have a customer that has one of my heads in his Mk2 escort, ST170 engine making 230bhp on standard inlet manifold.
Is there much to gain on an E46 M3? Haven't heard of anyone doing it so guessing not much point?
Yep done one, there is room for improvement. You just get many people tuning these engines to that level whee head work is needed.

  225 Cup & Williams
Dropped the Trophy off a Rentec this morning to have a SMF & R26.r clutch fitted along with new drop links, anti twist links, track rods & ends and a new steering rack bush.

More to do on tuesday.

  172 Ph1
Problems and problems for mot prep.
Fabricated an exhaust hangar- it's not going anywhere now!!
Thought washer bottle was blocked with dirt- whole thing had to come out as motor was spinning but not squirting fluid!! Trip to motor factors!!
Replace all 4 pads and discs - front sliders ceased!! Use heat to remove broken sliders - sheared the bolt as it wasn't for budging - trip to breakers yard for replacement part!
Rear discs - wtf?? Who knew the bearings were pressed into them. And as for the rear pad design - bloody French?? Motor factors closed by now - give up!!
Slow progress but hopefully 1x MOT'd 172 by Wednesday!!

Sorted out a horrible rattle which made the car sound very broken from outside...turns out the fuel rail guard had worked loose and one of the nuts has in fact came off and disappeared altogether! Tightened up the remaining nut and will need to order up another one for the other side, the joys of French auto-mobiling

I has that driving in France for the first time, was getting very worried!

  Clio 172, Escort RST
I have done a few things recently.

The first included putting in another HU into the car. I have a lovely Alpine 9887R with a Bluetooth module but I did not wish to fit it for a few reasons:
  • The box for the BT requires fitting somewhere
  • I am saving it for the Escort RST ; some of the functions would be wasted in this car ; it has active crossovers I plan to utilise with a sub and component system in the Escort :).
It seems my prayers were answered with me wanting a simple to fit HU. A mate of mine sold me an Alpine CDE-178BT HU with all of the above in new condition for a great price. While I love a stock look the benefits the HU has given me are great. Handsfree calling (crystal clear too!), Bluetooth streaming for music and sat nav, and improved radio reception! Who said old cars could not enjoy new tech?

In other news I managed to diagnose that my reversing sensor is kaput. A new sensor with the relevant seals are ready.

Fitted some new interior strips to freshen things up a bit.

Then gave her a quick little wash since buying it....before the rain hit.

Then dug through my box of goodies and decided the sabelt wheels going on soon.

The CF looks lovely. Is that genuine CF or a very good copy? What is the source?

  Renault Clio 182 Cup
Sunday had to re-spray the drivers mirror cover as some muppet knocked it off and today I just did a 0-100 acceleration test.
