mega gutted

last night wet roundabout wheelspin (wet) shot tyre.. bad driver lol it had to happen ive crunched my clio a car that has given me so much confidence on the road finally bit me in the bum! driveshaft straight out wishbone bent rack broken wheel er kurbed lost steering car ended up in the middle of the road after hitting near side roundabout kerb. followed by 3 police cars how annoying are they you must been speeding la la la ...



anyway look at pics and give opinons please! good and bad i like a laugh.

unlucky, thats gotta hurt.

try some pilot exaltos and dont risk it on shot tyres, especially not with 3 police cars behind you!

Hope you can get it fixed at a reasonable price

not as bad as my crash i had on sunday after french car show (again)



but on the plus side, its looking like 182 time for me ;):D

i hit my wheel on a kerb in snow the other year and the car was never quite right after wards..

Bad news mate.

I suffered the same damage a while ago at low speed in the ice. Hit a kerb, thought i kerbed the wheel but ohh noo....entire front suspension collapsed, broke the wishbone, drive shaft (had to wait 6 weeks for replacment) knackered the steering & spookily enough, the pics i got look very similar to yours.

Hope you get it mended soon.

Were the F1s better?

Sometimes (not all but sometimes) a car feels better once its been repaired (if you dont get renault to do it). You might get lucky.

Hi Rob,

Im very sorry to hear what has happened, but at the same time I am happy to hear that you are not hurt in any way. Things could have been much worse.

The damage looks significant, and as you say, will it ever be the same again??? Perhaps its better to move on.

P.S. Thanks for the PM, and do let me know what you decide to go for next. Evos are going for good money at the moment. ;) (Im up to 320bhp now)!

unlucky mate, know exactly what its like, hopefully get it sorted quick and with minimum fuss, weigh up what would be more, out of your own pocket or insurance

This is true mate, I ended up mangling the front end of mine - got to say its been rattle free now for 6 months since repair and drives great!

lesson learned i think .... cup coombsie needs an evo.

looks like youve pulled the driveshaft out of the box

if youre lucky the box wont be damaged

but that driveshaft has a trilobe bearing on the end, which has probably shattered

so it possible you might be needing a new gearbox

id estimate around £2K max

so new wishbone, possible new strut, new wheel + tyre, possible new rack, possible new DS + box etc etc etc

you can see the gearbox oil everywhere
