What's the first Clio 182 suspension mod?

Hey All

What's the first suspension mod one should do on a 182? Excluding coil overs (due to cost)

Would it be a strut brace? If so what are my options?

Thanks

Not 182 specific, but I'd recommend taking a good look at all consumables / high wear items, replacing as appropriate. Then get a full 4 wheel alignment done to a fast road spec from a specialist.

This will ensure that what you've currently got works to its full potential, and that the car is as sweet as can be.

This might in turn shape your first mod, so if the top mounts are shot, you might uprate those instead of replacing with stock.

100% agree with that ^

I didn't think much was wrong with mine when I bought it but, having heard rear shocks don't lass well, I replaced them... they were actually totally shot and car felt much sharper when replaced.

If your happy you have tight car with correct alignment, look at getting all 4 quality sports tyres of the same type (endless threads on what's good, remember you tend to get what you pay for when it comes to road use).

If you feel you need sharper response and more mobile back end then look at whiteline rear anti-roll bar. I don't have one but they are supposed to be best value chassis mod at less than £200. I have eibach camber bolts and have dialed in a little more negative camber on front to roughly match the factory rear camber amount. Little things. Don't need to spend big money IMO.
