Which brake/power steering fluid is best for my 172?

Currently buying in some bits for my 36k service on my 172.

I want to have the brake fluid and power steering fluid changed as well as the coolant.

Which viscosity of brake fluid would you advise, dot 4 or 5?

What about power steering fluid, are there varying levels as with brake fluid?

How much of each will I need?

Is there a viscosity rating on the PS fluid or just find that particular brand?

What about capacities?

nope just pas fluid.. dot 4 iirc

amounts,, for the brakes. i used 1.5 ltr toget a full flush

pas..not sure... 1 - 2 ltr

I have, ready to change my brake fluid, Castrol Response Super Dot 4.

Apparently, it's good..

Most PAS systems use automatic transmission fluid of some kind. I think renaults generally use Dexron and i think its currently on Dexron III spec. Should say in the handbook, if not somewhere like halfords will have a lookup chart for it

Think my PAS fluid came from Renault.. Heh.

Brake Fluid from Halfords - £10 too, which was a good price for it! (Was definetly Super, too!)
