which exhaust for my FF172?

Hi All,

this is my first post on the forum. I've been heavily into saxos for the last 3 years but the time came to sell my vtr and move up.

Picked up a 02plate Clio 172 with 26,000miles on it for just over 6 grand.

absolutely minty fresh condition. It drives like a dream and is alot quicker than i'd imagined.

I'm looking to get a different exhaust on there. I'm leaning towards the stealth ktr system with its subtle hidden looks and raspy exhauts note.

I dont want anything that will be intrusive at motorway speeds + i'm looking for the best possible driveability & performance gain from an exhaust.

I had a look on the search section and peolpe have commented on pro-speed being pretty good. i'm just outside newport south wales so the trek to cardiff isn't bad at all.

Hello welcome to cs, my previous car was a saxo too 1.4 with the body kit had that for three years been a good car, on my 172 i've got a magnex 2.5" twin round cat back got a great sound when you push and nothing when your going steady got mine about £300 great system

my saxo was my pride and joy. had it done up to track day spec. was massive bundles of fun but i'm sure the clio will fill its boots

the only thing that puts me off the magnex is the look of it. looks liek its blatantly not a standard exhaust. and from what i've seen it has fitting issues?

made me laugh because magnex was possibly the best exhaust for a saxo.

what kind of price does the gdi one fetch?

have you got any pictures of the exhaust on your car? both magnex, stealth, gdi and yozzasport?

I've been wondering between the 2 and i'm going for prospeed, the ktec looks cheap to me.

Yes it sure can be done! The stealth mk2 I have sounds amazing and is fine on the motorway. I often travel 150miles to Sheffield and the zorst is fine! It's louder than standard but not intrusive! K-tec developed it for exactly the purpose you want it for! I'll try and get some clips up on thursday (in a tunnel or something) but for now see the below link:

prospeed quoted me £20 less than the janspeed ktr stealth... still unsure but leaning towards the off the shelf tried and tested system

dont get a magnex, ive heard of people selling it up because of the motorway drone. Prospeed as you can custom make and choose how you want it to sound. Think its about 300 quid.

Ktec sounds good, but since you cant see the exit some people who arnt in the know would reckon youve got a hole in your standard exhaust.

GDIs looks neat to me and look at yozzasports ragotti think that has slight power gains and sounds the biz. Expensive though. Look on you-tube for yozzasports 172 driving clips for the sound. quality.

Ktec sounds good, but since you can see the exit some people who arnt in the know would reckon youve got a hole in your standard exhaust.

That's exactly why I got one, cos I'm not interested in PPL who aren't in the know. I'm not one for cruising the streets looking for some chav points! To be honest, even my Nan can tell there's no hole in my Zorst, it sounds nothing like a knackered standard system:dead:

I personally dont see how for example milteks 182 exhaust, or a prospeeds/gdi looks chav. I would consider a big bore 4inch attached to a nova is though.

mate each to their own.. im not knocking the ktec stealth! its a good decent sounding system, ive said that before. Im just saying that to the untrained eye it will look odd and fair enough some people dont care what others think... (than again you must care what ppl think cos you dont want to look like a "chav")

All i want to say is that i would get an after market system for the sound and the looks. sleep easy now.
