I can't understand all this fuss people make when they discover that the "wrong brand" has been used in their car. Is there such thing?
Fair enough make sure its 5W 40 or as Edde says make sure you don't live in Siberia if its 10W 40 but all this brand snobbery is a bit strange.
I will admit that i'd tend to steer clear of say Halfords own brand if i have to buy oil, but I use Shell Helix Ultra in mine (as i get it for free from work
,where we put it in the Loti, Subaru's and Saabs) and have never had any reason to think "oh no, its the wrong stuff!"
So is there some kind of proven scientific evidence to suggest that certain brand oils are obviously better than others?
I hear the name Silkolene bandied about alot as if its some kind of super oil....how so?
