who is effected?

Bumped into the back of a rover yesterday, no serious damage, . . .he sed 'sorry, i didnt want to get caught in the box junction,so i had to stop' anyway. .

Im on parent's(p) insurance (direct line) 5years+ ncb (me = 2nd driver,0years ncb)but also get to build no claims on this policy, however its not protected. . .
p also has another policy for a golf(with another company), so that is completely seperate

what im not sure of is, if he claims off my direct line insurance(which he will) is my ncb effected?or p's?

(no spammers/irrelevant comments)prefably those who know about this field of insurance of have had any similar encounters

thnx

My job is insurance i work for albany assistance i deal mostly with none fault accidents but im 99% sure
it will effect your ncb as your a a named driver if i dont think i will effect your parents in fact im again 99% sure it wont its not my speciality field though

my advice if you have the guys phone number and the damage is not much offer to pay for it to get fixed if you can afford to just explain about your unprotected ncb if he is reasonable he should be ok with it,

what car is that mg zr or rover 200 ? dont look like a grands worth to me more the 400 mark, new bumper i reccon altho that could be repaired the rear quater looks in tact just looks like its been riped from the hangers when u hit him i'd ask him to give you two quotes from bodyshops, then take it from there if he will go without insurance etc that is if you can afford it how much excess is on your policy? im guessing 200-400? either way not worth looking your ncb for an extra 200 or so, but he aint getting it done for a while tho as most of the bodyshops close for two weeks today

hi had a bump named under my dad, at the minute its unsettled my previous insurers say it was not my fault but the other party or her lawyers/insurancer are not responding to any communication from mine, any way because its un settled it stitting a a claim against that policy, it did not affect my dads no claims as he had 23 years or some thing like that, because i was driving ive taken the knock for it, so its a black mark against my name but none of the insurers have mentioned anything about it. and i'm happy about it , i woulnt want my dad to pay for something that happened when i was incharge of the vehicle. but it depend on your insurers if you take out your own policy next year, i'd assume they would add it against your name and affect your policy accordingly, but if you decide to stay under your parents it will go against them and will affect the golf, as they need to tell the other insurers about the incident under the other car and that policy will be affected also especially if its a fault claim.

but the old git int he rover will probably try and claim whip lash too. i witnessed a similar thing a young guy in a laguna went into the back of a old bird ina escort when she hesitated at t around about ( ir, moved off then chickened out and slammed the anchors on), the mumper cracked, but you could pick up a new one for about £40 and that sit but she is adamant about going throught he insurance, and fora llit being a 5mph crash she is claiming serious injury. same thing with my bros GF, she reversed into a woman parked ina loading bay it popped the bumper out (a ayigo) and cracked the paint on the bumper, she was determined to take it throught he insurance for a respray of the bumper, all of about £150 damage. Nic would have a £400 excess to pay no mater what. We had to convince the woman to go out side of the insurance, she wen to anrnol clark who wanted to replace the whole back end basically at a cost of £700, we told her to goto a body shop then she came back with an invoice for £340, still abit high but nic paid it becaus eit was less than the excess.
you will find that sgenerally the case with old people they want to do every thign through the insurance. My bros mate whos a bus driver hit someone fence when he swerved the bus because of some kids playing chicken, and the old codger came out demanding the companys insurance details, but buses are only covers third pary, and any damages and claims go against the driver. the station had to talk the guy out of going to the insurance, my bro and his mate went back that night and rebuilt the fence, cost all of £60 in wood and paint.

You'd be suprised what a bumped bumper can cost if you go through the channels.

I crashed into 2 Clios. 1 was a 182, 1 was a 1.2. Both cost £1500 through insurance apparently, and I didn't even think the 182 was damaged (5> mph bump from the car I hit).
