whos used prospeed for 172 mk1?

My mk1 172 exhaust snapped just before the back box yesterday, its standard renault and wont be paying renault prices. I live in cardiff so prospeed seem like the obvious choice.

Did a search and found that members Day and Fubur have used prospeed for mk1 172's but quite a while ago.

Anyone used them recently? What price am i looking at for cat back system? And will they do discount for cliosport members?

Oh more question, is it illegal to drive without a backbox?

i dont think it's illegal to drive with a broken back box , you could show you've got it booked in for repair , but the earliest date is ------ ?

yep exactly, with everything closed today and i have to drive to work in the morning at 7:30. The backbox is off, was hanging an inch from the ground. will take the risk.

The exact same thing happened to mine, I was local too so they did mine for £317 and its awesome, was really impressed by the build quality, look and sound of the thing. Wait till it beds in!
Just tell Charlie your from Cliosport forums and they'll give you a discount.
If you want it cut into the bumper go buy the surround from renaults first, £18 ish I think rip off!

p.s. how awesome does it sound with no backbox? give it a good rev 5k+ lol!
I think there is a strong chance you'll get pulled with it sounding like that but I drove mine all the way to prospeed without issue. I did have millions of people looking at me giving me evil looks cuz it sounded like a 747

Is it a lot louder than standard? I dont mind a nice burble and noise on acceleration but i drive on m4 for 50 miles to work and wouldnt want it droning really bad at 70-80

I drove from Telford to Cardiff (down the shortest route)...ie not on the Motorways! with no back box on...didn't get pulled...but the car didn't seem to run very well...fuel was being gobbled up and I was deaf in my left ear for the rest of the day!

If you've booked the car in, it shouldn't be an issue with the police...how the hell would I have explained that I've driven to Cardiff when I could have gotten a crap one from a local kwit-fit or something!!

just picked my car up from prospeed and 1st impressions are good, i only live in cardiff so havent had a good long drive yet but the note seems perfect. Pics to follow shortly
