Why are cup splitters so expensive/overpriced?

£150 is obscene, though, for a strip of plastic

genuine parts pricing seems completely random sometimes. some stuff seems reasonably priced and then you get parts like this^

when you could still order the parts off of the Renaultsport-site in FRance they were listed as something like 60/70 euros (40pounds) !?!?

Yep, i'll probably go for the ktec carbon fibre [effect] jobbie now.

I would pay the extra and get a standard one if I were you, unless you like stone chips that is.

What a bunch of rip off merchants renault are !!!

Selling parts at that prices.

One way of driving people elsewhere for certain parts :(

Dearer than a front splitter for a 996 Porsche, lol. I still cant quite work out how Renault feel they can charge more for the equivalent part on a clio that even at full retail was 15k new compared to a 70k plus Porsche.

hasn't anyone got the ability to copy them and sell the far cheaper I know you shouldn't but they'd make a bit and all of us that want one would be happy!

It's supply and demand really though isn't it?
As stated there's only really K-Tec who sell an aftermarket jobbie, so if you want your Clio to remain standard, Renault could charge £250 and you'd have to pay it (or buy second hand!).

Untill a decent aftermarket (OE looking) one is released Renault can charge what they want.

There no need for it its looks only if you want it you have to pay there not rip off mercharnts though IMO. if you see the investment you'd see what Renault charge more for parts than cheap copy cat part manurfacturers.

Sorry edde, your argument doesnt make sense.

How can you invest in quality of manufacture... its a strip of plastic.

No more money was invested in making it than any other models strip of plastic, yet it costs 5 times as much.

Just read this.

Maybe it could be worth someone speaking to a plastic manufucturer or something and seeing if they could reproduce them ??

If a few people said they wanted them the price could come in under renaults & k-tec's.

Just an idea, not sure how feasible it is.
