I'm guessing it has something to do with security purposes.

As vans usually contain tools etc in there, which are a liability, and means that it is more likely for criminals to break into the van.

Because a high proportion of van drivers sit in the outside lane tailgating and getting speeding tickets?

What Ben said, or van drivers (generally) attract the opinion that they're crap drivers. Hence accidents and high risk!

Van insurance is cheaper on a traders insurance, my mates dad has trading insurance for there company and his son is 17 and drives a 1.9TD peugeot expert, worked out cheaper than having a non modified 1.2 C2 for him, only thing is i think the main policy older has to be like 25 iirc, il ask him later.

"White van man" is a stereotype, a usually pejorative term used in the United Kingdom to describe aggressive, thoughtless drivers of light commercial vehicles.

Drivers of un-lettered white vans are often thought of as having poor road manners, cutting off other road users and generally failing to drive safely. The term is therefore used to refer generally to aggressive van driving, extremely fast driving speeds and is not usually specific in its target.

The stereotypical "white van man" is often thought to be a self-employedsmall businessman, often a builder, carpenter or a plumber. His vehicle of choice is the popular Ford Transit light panel van. or
