Took Willy2 to Pod yesterday, and managed to get a personal best 1/4 time lol. Got 15.657 @ 86.53. Car has a decat magnex system, and std air box with green filter in it. Been dynod at 163bhp (but that was with a K&N induction) Took spare wheel out but thats about it, and had stuff like food etc in the back seat lol.

What do u recon to that time considering mods / not stripped etc? I really wanna strip loads out of it for one run, just to see if theres much difference....

My car is exactly same spec as yours only mines a Willy 3.

My first go at 1/4 miling at York I got 15.2 @ 92

I had seats in and and Ice intall that Im ditching for the next time, my 60ft times were poo and I was always spinning, so I;m hoping to get in the late 14s next time defo, if not Ill cry

i managed a 15.4 in my gti on my first and only day down at the pod. I think you could get more from your willy, practice your launching and smooth changes.

From the test we did on the m/way I think we can say the difference between my car and yours up the strip was due to mine being lighter. Worth around 0.3/0.4 of a sec over the 1/4 mile. After I pulled a poo 14.8 with 1,000s worth of mods..

Yeah seeing some of the other old hands there launch the cars (2live, Chris, Matt, etc..) I defo need to practice my starts for next time, I think getting a good 60ft time will lend to a better overall 1/4 mile time, I think my reaction time wasnt too bad, could be better but not bad for a first time.

Louise I reckon you can easily bring that time down, by getting rid of excees luggage in the car, thats my plan anyway.

Car going to be checked out on Wednesday so will hopefully be running at full tilt next time.....oh and Im gonna try taking the front tyres down to 18-20 psi.....the sh*t times were in the pissing rain btw.

Louise my valver has done the 1/4 in 15.6 at 89mph and thats with the same mods as yours........but mine did have rear seats out

A williams should really be faster than that, esp the ET times

thats about rite tbh for a willy with those mods n seats in with extra weight.............u shud be hoverin around the 15.0 mark with a full trim n spare wheel etc in.......

drop the spare n pull the seats out can make 1/2 sec on the strip.........i sh*t u not lol

lol.....dunno mate i found my car a lot easier to launch at the strip with the std clutch than the clutch thats in now..........its hard to hold it on biting point cos it just wants to go lol......

Like 2live saids, if you get rid of the seats and any extra weight then the time will come down! Not a bad time though!

When I raced flaming down the strip in his willy 3 with 138bhp at the wheels and my valver with 120bhp at the wheels, mine stripped, no spare or back seats and parcel shelf, I ran a 15.7 and he ran a 15.2 and this is on our very first go at quater mileing!

He seems to have the same or similar mods to you and still had his seats in and was pulling a 15.2, think your car can do better than a 15.6, but thats just my opinion!
