Williams - acceleration problem

When Im driving slowly, I find that if I even feather the accelerator that the car jerks forward. The gearlever also moves when I do this, so I guess the engine is rocking back.

I initially thought that this might be due to a sticky throttle cable, but its not that. My "dog-bone" mount is also brand new.

Could this be another engine mount or is it a dodgy driveshaft? (or something else?)

Cheers for any help

all clio gearsticks move when you blip or just lift off the throttle.

every1 ive bin has done anyway.

Yeah, but this is quite sudden. I guess it would happen anyway because of the sudden jolting, but just thought Id add it in case,

best wait for a techy then mate. but i know when i first drove a clio after my xr2 i thort the gearbox was knackered!!

The injection system when above 1500rpm doesnt fuel at all when your on no load throttle openings.

So when you apply throttle again there is a sudden enrighment period with a decay rate. So from essentially a negative torque output (engine braking) to a much higher torque production on throttle the engine jerks and all the slack in any bearings, gearsets etc etc is taken up and creates a jerky motion. Its natural on this particular engine, any injection engine really.

might be as simple as needing to adjust the throttle cable... so there is some play in it.... try it...

^^^ What Andy said. Mine was really tight on my first Clio Williams, but when loosened a little it was far better and much more enjoyable to drive.
