Windscreen cover/insurance

Anyone with Tesco Insurance? Need my windscreen replacing but they are f**king useless!

Been on it for 3 weeks and they still haven't given me a figure I need to pay and are umming and arghh'ing that I might not get the rain/heat sensor and anti-glare screen. I've got cover so surely they must give me the correct/standard windscreen! lol

How much am I looking at purchasing/fitted independently?

i just got mine replaced through direct line. The way they did it was you phone autoglass then they arrange everything and bill it to insurance co and you just need to sign a form.

It may be worthwhile finding out who they use for windscreens and try speak to them instead?

I asked the guy who did mine how much it would have been if it wasnt an insurance job and he said he thought £400-500.

If you have windscreen cover they will give u the standard windscreen in, which if it is a windscreen that has rain / heat sensor then thats what they will have to put back in for you.

Have you tried speaking to autoglass through them as they can then claim it back from tesco?
Or you can just get it replaced your self then send in your invoice to them and they will have to pay you back ( minus your windscreen excess ). If they have taken this long then they cant argue when u go and get it done yourself.
Any problems with them let me know as work in motor claims so i know what they are like sometimes!!

Im with Tesco Insurance.. Autoglass cover Tesco too.

Its £75 excess for a replacement screen or £25 for a repair (must be smaller than a £2coin)

You need to phone Autoglass and quote your Tesco Insurance policy number.

The woman asked me if it had a rain sensor, and anti glare thing... and wasnt a problem at all. Got me booked in at the garage in a matter of days!

tesco has a 75 pounds exsess if you have a 182 you should have a heat reflective screen with a rain sensor

Autoglass arnt the cheepest tbh Ide say of the top of my head 400-500 pounds. My old work would do them for 150-200 fitted

Its always worth a ring round tbh

lmao just rung auto glass to see what the price would be....got quoted £856.50 Actually phoned back twice too make sure it wasn't a mistake. Apparantly I've not got windscreen cover on my Tesco insurance because I didn't ask for it when applying, which I'm not happy about!

Is windscreen cover a given in all Tesco insurances or is it something added on? If anyone with Tesco could confirm this would be appreciated (I always get windscreen cover in all my past insurances and never had to ask specifically for it)!
Looks like I'm going to have to splash the cash again at an independant

Was it tesco value insurance as they dont have it as std mate.

All i can advisw you to do it ring a few comapanys Autowindscreens or nationalwindscreens

Wouldnt use some "one man bands" As some of the work i have seen in 7 years has been shite no rust primer etc
