Nice and heavy!!! Laguna and vee engine are different. Similar in capasity and thats it!

  Turbos.
That's what i thought... they've never done a Laguna with 230bhp, i'm not sure they have even broke the 200bhp figure? I'm sure it must make a nice noise but i wouldn't ruin the handling purely for that.

Nice that car will understeer for britain !!

Waste of time and money for the money he will spend on that he may as well go and buy a real v6 .

maby he doesnt want a real v6 tho? maby he doesnt like the mk2?

in my opinion the guys a legend, rear mounting an engine isnt the easyest job to do lol

Not necessarily. More weight over the front gives more grip to the front tyres. Its the principle that worked so well on the valver / williams and to a lesser extent on cars like the 182, 306 etc. The trick is to get the set up right. There will be a point of no return, where the weight will cause problems, but there are ways round the understeer problems.

A lot of understeer is to do with traction problems of the front tyres (too hard suspension, too low suspension), not directly because of front end weight, which can be helpful.

If you can maintain contact of the tyres with the road, there is no reason it will understeer. Its when you have a car bouncing round corners that you get understeer problems, usually from incorrectly damped suspension set ups, or incorrect camber setting. You cant expect a tyre to turn a car if its in the air.

Agreed...

For far less money, he could have a lightweight williams, running 200bhp, which would eat that.

that silly what the point doing it, just buy a real v6

it be far too danger to drive it putting v6 engine in mk1

iirc, it hasnt been jigged, but fair enough its different. The Renault V6 engine is massive and rediculously heavy compared to other V6's, say a vaux V6. supercharged hybrid engine would be better in a red mk1.... isnt that right Danny ;)

you gotta give him some credit for trying something different. it must take some balls or supidity to do that. either way ital be insane when its done. as for the understeer, wont it oversteer being rwd?

Good luck to him if it ever gets finished, although as others said, the Laguna V6 is 194bhp, I don't think it ever even got the 210 seen in the Pug 406, which till 98 also had the 194bhp one - which was less economical as well as less powerful. It was a very different engine in 210bhp guise, VVC etc.

Some guy that posted on V6Clio.net lookin for some parts was putting one in the back of a 106. Wide arch kit etc to hide the wider rear track, then he was turboing it as well, or supercharging it, I can't remember.
