IMO, yeah. There was no way I was stopping in time even if I was doing 30-40, or any room to get beside him. Not claiming though as I'm not fussed about the car, no one was injured and I really cant be arsed with the hassle of insurances etc!

Yeh, I think that is the right decision as from what I read reguardless of the farmer being really dippy and causing the crash it would prob be classed as your fault.

By the time you factor in the insurance company's 'market value payout', your excess and loss of NCB best just forget about it sometimes. Ridiculous set of circumstances.

Can you break the VTS for a few parts then? To get some cash back?

Exactly. £500 excess, the chance that they put it down as 50/50 or even my fault will push my premium up, not worth it!

Yeah, it's in bits now. Trying to find buyers for stuff, lol. Exhaust, wheels and a few interior bits have gone. Engine, box, shafts, ecu and loom I'm trying to shift as one, if you know anyone, give me a shout!!

ah s**t, hate seeing accidents, at least everyone is ok

couple of lads round where I work died on tuesday night through overtaking their mate at 120 apparently. Crashed head on with a VW passat and killed the 12 year old girl in the back seat. Makes you appreciate how dangerous getting in your car can be, theres no accounting for other road users.

Woman I work with is a farmers wife too, and her husband was driving the tractor back and was hit by an old man. He'd pulled over onto the verge but this car just kept coming onto the other side of the road and knackered the tractors front wheel, old blokes grandaughter didn't have her seatbelt on either and left a big dent in the windscreen where her head hit it. Now the old blokes trying to say that the tractor driver was at fault, and pursuing a claim.

Good to see that the tractor driver's being "straight" with you, and not making things up
