Mk5 Golf GTI :)
Cheers mate. Now the Megane has gone I get to drive this, looking forward to it tbh
Gorgeous!
I'll swap you my arctic turbo for that once its repaired plus money my way
Said this before but going to keep this for a while. Nice enough car, few things I want to do but generally good.
Looks great man!
Why anyone would fit a shorter gearstick on these is beyond me though!
Why? The throw is huge.
Probably a good thing though. JC5 boxes don't like to be rushed. I'd know.
Well im not sure about you but even on a standard gearstick I've properly reaching forward to change gear. It removes the involvement of driving fast for me.
I'm not sure what you mean. Having a shorter, more positive shift surely is more involving?
I've had a B&M shortshift on my Ph1, and then the OE setup on my 182. I'd take the B&M any day. As long as you don't rush the 'boxes.
My 200's not got that issue, the shift's really good in standard form.
Yes. Unless you modify the location of the pivot point. If you have a longer stick, the throw is longer because you're further from the pivot point.
A quickshift shortens or modifies the linkage, rather than just the stick. So you could have a quickshift with an even longer stick for the same net result.
Trying to make my mind up. At the mo I have a newly retrimmed wheel which is mint, by far the nicest standard wheel I've owned. But fancy a change. Now I know this isn't expensive but the quality/company isn't a concern as others have used them. What do you think of this wheel,
