your thoughts please, crime related!!

I got pulled over back in july one evening for having rear indicators that showd a white light when flashing. was asked to change them and given a slip to send off once id done it, withing 2 weeks.. this was 2 days before i went away on holiday for 2weeks. changed the bulbs , went on holiday.

come back off holiday and have completely forgoten about the slip i was given, anyway carry on my everyday life until yday.........................get a letter through the post summoning (Cnt spell!) me to Loughborough Magistrates Court on 29th November!!!!!!!

Please some restore my faith in this country and tell me that they have got better things to be doing with their time?!

Do you still have a receipt for the bulbs? If you can show the magistrates that you complied with the notice, maybe theyll forgive you for forgetting to send the paperwork back.

But come on Tom, its a fair cop, at the end of the day its youve broken the law..forgetting isnt an excuse or a reason to have a go at them.

As long as you have proof that you put right the problem, then you could always lie and say you did send it with a photocopy of the required paperwork. Either that, or photocopy the paperwork now and say you sent the originals back before you went on holiday (As your more likely to know the date) and thought it was done and dusted.

Of course this all goes out the window if you have no proof, or didnt bother getting it done.

come on though, what a waste of tax payers money taking some one to court for this when ppl who smash ppls belongings up in the street rape women etc etc get away on technicalities and dont even get cought most of the time... wouldnt the officer who is to attend court be better suited to catching more serious offenders plus the magistrate could be dealing with a more serious case to get someone behind bars sooner rather than later

traffic police are just that they are there to deal with traffic. Its not as ifthey would have been chasing a robber if not doing a file for you. If you have just forgot to send paperwork in then I imagine it should be ok.

http://www.5ive-o.comwww.5ive-o.com is the best place to ask. Its run mostly by traffic cops and even has a magistrate and an insurance expert etc so they will most likely know wh.ats gonna happen in your situation
