Well, dropped the car off with HMS Derv Destroyer for its front end respray. Whole week without a car!

Also ordered a battery cover so will fit that along with my strutbrace when I get chance

Fitted with self-tapping screws, the same as everyone elses!

its not got enough fixing to make it flush all the way along... i can see daylight through some of it lol.

i'll sort it, has to come off anyway.

I must admit, its not the best fit - it doesn't go smooth all the way around - but that was because I was doing it on my drive, without any jacks, with the smallest screwdriver I could find to fit between the gap screw and floor xD

i admire your commitment! i gave up trying to fit it on the floor.... took the bumper off instead.

It was an utter nightmare, I was on sportlines too, so it was that much lower.

Lots of swearing and cut hands went into it!

another thing ive noticed ... its been a long time since ive driven a sport but jesus, the steerings heavy compared to my dci electric steering.

exhaust sounds nice to , slightly deafening putting it in the spray booth XD

Right, after a long week of wishing I had a car again, the work was finished & I went up and collected it from HMS Derv Destroyer . Cannot recommend him enough, fantastic work & one pleased customer

Went in for a full front end respray (Bonnet, bumper, wings & mirrorcaps) and i'm over the moon with the result. I'll let the pics do the talking haha:

Update!

Work on the engine bay has commenced. After popping along to the OCD Detailing open day on the weekend I decided to spend the afternoon on the car. Did the usual wash & polish, and then turned my attention to the bay, cracked out the Autosol and got to work..

Focused mainly on the lettering as that was already a good base for polishing.

Polished up the Aircon pipes while I was at it & gave most of the bay a wipe down with an AF Verso mixture and some Quick Detailer.

While I was under there I noticed my coolant was low, so I used this as a chance to swap the header tanks over to my new one. Popped over to my local Renault parts the next day to pick up some coolant, and out came the old s**tty one :rasp:

Forgot to take a pic of the new one but hey ho! While the engine was cooling down beforehand I whipped off the engine cover and started to refurb it. Gave it a damn good wash & wipe down, then whipped out some nice Anthracite spray

I was abit nervous at this point as it looked like the paint didn't like the cover, but luckily it turned out OK. Will be giving it another coat tomorrow.

Going to source some 2.0l 16v stickers for the oil cap cover now, and then tomorrow I will start tackling the Inlets.

Cheers dude, just had my strutbrace shotblasted so that will be getting powerdcoated next week. Also picking up a fully polished inlet & getting that fitted! Fingers crossed its all together for PFC

The cover is now finished and waiting to go on the car, quick teaser:

I managed to source a polished 182 inlet so picked that up yesterday. The plan is to leave the inlets polished, but have the renaultsport part black with polished lettering. So out came the spraypaint!

I bought an OMP Strutbrace awhile ago and it was in terrible nick. I got it shotblasted my my dad, then off it went to my mate who powdercaoted it anthracite for me. Will be picking it up tonight but have a sneaky pic of it here
