Be nice to keep all TV experiences and opinions in one thread so here goes.

Looking for a 55-60" 4K HDR, budget of £1000. Any recommendations?

So far I've found in this bracket with good reviews

Hisense 55M5500
Samsung UE55KU6000
Panasonic TX58DX700B
Sony KD55XD8005 55"

My mate massively rates Hisense. He said the only reason they're cheaper is because they are trying to crack the UK market so are going in at lower prices initially.

The struggle is real tbh. I don't need 3D, but do I need HDR? and does it need to be 10 bit? I'm off to JL tomorrow to have a look

I don't want 3d but want 4k. Same thing but definitely 60" and 1k and under. Due change. My current 55 LG is feelin dated.

I'd go for whatever's got the fastest software... I wanted a Sony with Android but they were delayed for so long I ended up with a Tizen Samsung. It's slow and very annoying, but I end up using my PS4 for most media stuff now. Heard the Android TV OS is no better though :(

Is that 55 inch 4K LG one currently on offer at Argos a good deal? Reduced from 1000 to 700 quid.

Im looking to buy a 55 inch for my new house...

I've not long bought the lg from Argos, it's a very good tv in my opinion (I'm no expert though). HD channels are crisp and clear, the sound isn't too bad for a thin flatscreen, wifi and internet based as well for apps etc and it's way better than my last lg which was about 5 years old and felt dated. Very good to for the money imo.

Ok cheers, yeah i have a 2 year old LG 47 inch LED tv which i will keep for gaming.

Just looking for a 4K for the main room. Is the difference between LED and OLED a big one?

People are saying good things about Hisense Tvs...anyone looked into them?

If you go 4K do you make sure its HDR/10 bit?

From the last 6 months and my knowledge;

Sony are the leaders at the moment and they've been behind for a while but I'd recommend the Sony.

Hisense are a steal, they are also the company that bought Loewe who are a massive premium brand, similar level to B&O. They are actually good screens but who wants a Hisense on the wall?!

Panasonic and Samsung are a little pricey, although Panasonic will have the better TV's next year with some good OLEDs

LG are good but they feel cheap for what they're charging.

I fancy a 65 oled now to stay ahead of the game a bit but do I want to spend silly money.

Noticing screen quality more and more these day. Think my mum's 40 odd inch Sony is the best looking TV I've seen in a house no matter what the size. Just so crisp.

Quality - size is becoming more apparent to me... Although I still need bigger than 55 next.

I remember the days when the same was said about Samsung!!

Iirc they hit the big time doing a decent dvd player that could easily do multi region for a bargain price!

We just got the 4K version of that size Sony for £639 for a customer from Argos

That's a good price BUT is it worth them going 4K when it's just going to be used for Freeview or are they better just spending more on the best 1080p TVs has to offer?

What would you go for around 50" for people in their 60's who are useless with tech.

No set budget but say up to £800.

It's also got you view in (I've not checked the one you linked in)

It'll still be a better panel with a better picture. We spec the most recent, I imagine the one you linked is also a year old model or so.

Most of our customers are late 50's/60's and hate tech!

58 needed here. Non curved, non 3D, couldn't care less about audio as TV speakers never ever get used. Don't care about features, just care about how good my Sky Q 4K and Xbox One feeds will look on it.

This is me but 2 inches bigger.

It's a bloody minefield!

Once you settle on one you read another review and start questioning yourself!

I ended up going for a Samsung

https://www.avforums.com/review/samsung-ue55ju6400-uhd-review.11288

But my budget was half yours and only after 50"

How you finding it? Looking at the 49" version in Currys as we on a budget now.

Coming from a 6 year old 40" it's going to be a big change!

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and...t-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-49-led-tv-10145518-pdt.html

Think I read only 1 HDMI is UHD? Might have seen that wrong!!

Opinions would be great from am owner!
