JDM Imports - Canada

Oh my, that's a garage and a half.

Any tips on eloping to Canada? (semi-serious question btw lol)

So it's still winter here!

Some toys heading to Canada. I own half of the blue Audi, the rest are my friends. Should be a fun summer!

That Audi is amazing. My brother had an immaculate one with alot of money spent on it. Sold it then regretted it as it drove off lol.

All these cars are lovely that you import. Where do you find them? Working in shipping I can organise it super cheap. Would love to do it one day.

Not very JDM I know but have you imported any land rovers/land cruisers? I ship loads of them to canada and the price they sell for over there is scary.

They are all out of Auction in Japan

When a Megane R26R is legal I might get one from the UK so i'll hit you up for some shipping options when we get there!

We see quite a few land rover defenders coming into Canada, yes the prices are a little nuts! Demand is high for them.

That's lovely. Can't be many of those in Canada!

They have been importable for around 18 months-ish. I only know of a couple in eastern Canada, I’d be surprised if there were more than 5. Most of the Japanese auction 147 GTA’s go back to Europe.

Wow that looks lovely. Out of curiosity, how come it’s LHD?

It’s a strange thing, but many of the performance European cars were sold as LHD. As said above it’s an exotic tag for buyers, they want the cars as the Europeans have them. They also like the uniqueness of being different.

Literally any car in that collection I’d be driving over into B.C with. I take it that you’ve done that many-a-time with it being on your doorstep? 😎

There have been a few road trips to BC over the years it is a beautiful part of the world!

Normally all Alfa GTA's that come over from Japan are the woeful Selespeed, havent seen a manual one yet! Good find.

All RHD's from Japan are Selespeed, the LHD's are manual. That is probably why you have only see the selespeed.

Great little collection. Can only imagine how much interest the V6 gets out there! I’ve had 40+ performance cars over the years and the biggest head turner was without doubt my old clio V6.

Funnily enough I was watching some vids of the owner from Brave Auto the other day. He’s had some nice cars! The RS500 he had was unreal being so mint and still original. It’s one thing getting a restored one but don’t see many in that condition from new! Don’t fancy driving them in Australia much though, their speed limits are tough.

V6 does turn some heads but to be honest the Mazda Rx7 get the most attention when I am out and about.

Mark has/had some great cars there are some absolute crackers out of the auctions in Japan.

Not car related ( amazing collection btw) how long have you been in Canada for? What took you there? Looks bladddyy freezing in the winter

Been in Canada about 5.5 years now - Moved for a better more relaxed lifestyle - Winters are a little nippy but I dont mind that, we get a nice summer and winter contrast!

Perhaps we can have a little Canada thread. I’m sure I’m not the only person interested/ nosey.
I love Canada. Would never have the minerals to up sticks and move though.

Can you tell us a little more where you are, what you are doing over there? What the weathers like, pros cons.
Tell me to F off if you want 😂

Count me in. Bloody love Canada. I've quizzed @E11OOT about it too :ROFLMAO:

Only the Japs would have the awesome logic to make a force-fed RWD version of safe, practical 4WD model that already exists!
Its good fun researching all the different models - couldn't resist these two! Got some Cusco coilovers and 18" Advan tri-spoke wheels waiting to be installed on the white one :)

I bet it is! It's great hearing about some bonkers JDM models that you've never heard of before.

If those lottery numbers came up, I'd be flying to Japan and end up like a kid in toy shop at one of those auctions.

No need for a lottery win to enjoy the auctions! There are plenty of affordable interesting options.
