Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Quick question. With the supposed "lockdown" that might be approaching the UK, I am getting all my detailing gear in order as it sounds like we might all have a bit more spare time. Looking for a panel wipe to get rid of any existing wax / sealant as well as clearing the panel after polishing. Ive heard of 99% IPA (impossible to find currently). Has anyone used a lower % IPA? Would like 85% work?
Carpro eraser or Gtechniq panel wipe

@Sunglasses_Ron cracking stuff this. Not sure if I put too much on but it shifted all the ingrained brake dust with no issues.

I’d be all over one of these for that price tbh

Just bought a kit with one of those and some Meguiars stuff from cleanyourcar, seemed a good option and gets good reviews.

I've only ever used Autoglym EGP as a paint sealant, but due to comments on here Sonax Xreme Protec & Shine Hybrid NPT has caught my attention. Sounds like a good product without the curing time of EGP? Would you use it over SRP or use a SONAX polish instead. Paintworks in good nick bar some minor swirling.

Thanks in advance.

I dont know the specifics on this but surely this is allowed? You arent going near someone outside of your family home and it's on your land.

I for one will most likely be detailing the family fleet of cars 😂

I can't see why not, keep your distance and don't go out for a drive afterwards!

I'm planning on taking half the PB apart for cleaning and polishing if the weather holds up!
