Rear bumper M10 bolts

Good morning!

Another day another rusty bolt on a Clio, loving it.

Trying to removey rear bumper, all bolts came out with relative ease (wd40, bit of wire brushing etc) but one of the M10 bolts underneath is just spinning and the clamp thingy on top has crumbled.

Is there an 'easy' trick to get this out before I get the dremel out and go wild? Can't get anything up there to grip it..

Once out, what is the best bolt to replace these buggers with, stainless steel M10 with regular nut behind it?

Would something like this work as a replacement? I don't know much about bolts to be honest, would the thread pitch be the same, ie can I replace the wheel arch bolts with these as well?

Small pair of molegrips usually works.

Yeah bolt will be fine but with a couple of washers to spread the load.

Yeah I’d get some grips on that if you can, if not just drill/cut it off.
Replace with some M10 stainless hardware, penny washers and nylock nuts.

Ahh you're right! As said in my first post, I don't know a thing about bolts haha!

Thank you, that saves me a disappointment later this week.

Off to order new bolts now, been reading a bit about things now and found there's A2 and A4 grade stainless steel bolts, I assume A4 is better for better corrosion resistance?

@MLB how many of these bolts are there? 2 or 4? Going to order some myself in readiness for when I clean behind the rear bumper. Thanks!

There's six in total, but only two exposed to the elements as the other four are behind the arch liners.

No worries, ordered the bolts now, should work fine and be easier to take off again instead of the clips!
