Few little jobs done firstly when I first put rocker cover on I put bits of sealer whe the joins were but I had to whip rover cover off and when I re fitted I didn’t seal again as I was rushing and leaked like a siv so re sealed that!!
and also the shifter got a bit of slop and gear changes wernt very nice so I noticed that it was all loose so had all to bits and lock tightend it up!!

Soo a sad update.. couple of nights ago was coming home from work it was raining so traction didn’t exist so was wheel spinning through the gears into 4th and then it finally bogged got grip and pop!! I managed to coast up the first slip road and yer towed it back to my parent as their house is 5 mins away.. I was optimistic that thinking it was the clutch exploded!! no obvious signs of engine or box failure in till I pulled spark plugs and yer she ded!!

so plan is now maby re commission my gul Volvo 850 for track days and worry about this when I’m ready to do it I’m probs gunner do “k24 Frankenstein” so forged 2.4 bottom end with k20 head not as revvy but it give you roughly 260 bhp plus and 195 plus torque so that’s probs gunner be the route was gunner turbo but I think that would of been to much it worked well as it was.. did

I think it’s piston failure as all the valve look in place just pent as the springs still compressed Like the heads still attached to pull head it’s engine out so may pull it to see if head is salvageable

So pulled the engine and yer shes really ded cams/ vtec bit, oil pump, and baffled sump survived for when I do 2.4 k20 oh and also I need to do a little chassis notch as shafts had been rubbing so I have tucked it away for the mo so I can start gathering parts but I did dig out my cortina to cheer me up from storage

Soo finally picked up a 60k miles k20a2 ouch!!! I was gunner do a k24 build but sadly it’s got to go to free up fun tokens for my next one (ph1 172)
I dug out my old engine I needed sump off it and I pulled oil pump off too and eff me there’s been a party in the sump as expected
But anyway new genuine chain kit again and did the valve clearances
old engine first..

I think piston failure or valve head fell off? oil pressure was strong it was wheel spinning in wet @75ish mph in 4th probs I was a bit harsh obv Mexico my brother did same in his ep3 and that was piston only as his valves were intact rods still intact just bent

So new engine is now back together checked all the tappets also new genuine chain kit baffled sump and nice rocker cover..

Also dug van out of storage hopefully get it together this week !! Then advertise it
