As above piston starting to seize, its not knackered yet if its moved back in though.
Wind piston out as far as you dare to inspect, prob see a little corrosion. Be mindful if you wind out too far piston comes out and your in the s**t
Clean piston up with scotchbrite and wd40, lube up piston with red rubber grease, (lithium grease will get you away if thats all you have).
Wind piston in and out shoud free up. This sorts 80% of sticky calipers out for good.
This is something I’ve always wondered about. What happens if it comes out? Does it not just wind back in?
Haha. Saw a clever vid using an airline to get the seal over the piston. But yeah I can imagine it being messy. I thought it was something to do with the mechanism being a pain in the arse to reassemble.Usually end up with a right mess of brake fluid/trying to get the piston over the seal with caliper in situ![]()
