So after mechanically restoring my dads flamer I really had the itch for a ph1.. and after bit of time the one piped up that was lurking online with overheating issues and on 200k miles but was was fair he was asking so had to have a look as wasn’t far from me and yer was impressed.
I thought I could break it and make money (how I look at stuff as worst case😂)and yer got it back to my unit

So plan was to pull the engine do cambelt water pump as I suspected overheating was due to pump not circulating and while I was there I’ll do clutch and all the bits that just make sense but!! Plans don’t go to plan once engine was out I was turning engine by hand and it was like having the plugs out!! 😂🥲 weird as it ran sweet disregarding the over heating issue so next was pull the head off see what’s going or gone down 🫣 and bores were really good for mileage as was the overall visual engine condition once head was off pulled valves and 14 out of the 16 were leaking like a siv..
So new plan picked up a 60k bottom end and a new set of valves and a victor rinze head set so should be sweet when done been picking up few little mods to on the way..

And yes the pump was ded 🤑🤑

Cheers yer mate it’s a 10 footer doors and quarters let the car down but as far as rust go it’s really good!

Yer mate unit makes its nice 😅
As said it’s clean I’m gunner put a pair of quarters on it when weather warms up as that would mint it up
