Just purchased a Hisense 50U7QTUK, i only use it for the PC, but the picture quality is excellent, i can see myself getting a Hisense next year to replace the Sony Bravia in the living room.

I recently got the 55 version which ironically replaced my old Sony Bravia and I’m more than impressed with it.

My 65C5 turned up today, been a week since I sold the 55CX so I've been using some shitty 40" JVC Fire TV for the last week.

This one seems properly massive now, for the viewing distance it's about right but the room isn't massive. I'm sure I'll think it's too small in a few days when I'm used to it

Its looking like 40-50% off the current price (which is already reduced, due to new models later in year). Only drawback I've since discovered is delivery is to my workplace (South East).

I'm South East! Missus would probably kill me if I bought a new TV as other 'things' need doing... but, what size etc.

😂! There are no restrictions on sizing. As long as it’s in stock with LG then it’s good to go I believe.

John Lewis have a good offer on at the moment, buy a Sony TV and get 50% off a soundbar.

I was looking at the Bravia Quad setup, rrp £2500, buy a £375 Sony tv and it’s then £1250 😂

But would take the theatre 9 soundbar down to £700. And the soundbars also have an offer on to get £150 off a subwoofer…

Now I'm a single Dad I think I need to put my stamp on the bedroom. So redecorating.

So far I've not picked wardrobes, bed, flooring, colour or anything come to think of it, but I have just ordered this for the bedroom

What is the widest cable you would need to connect a TV with a soundbar/ sound system?

We're running some cables behind the wall, however, the electrician has put some piping in that doesn't even allow for a HDMI cable to run through it. I presume a HDMI is probably the biggest cable you would need for audio connection? As well as for linking up the consoles?

It’s not the cable it’s the connectors that are the thickest things. Just put them down the cavity instead of through the tubes

I did think that, but they aren't going to board over it, just skim it, said cables will then set in there!

Might just buy some thicker tubing to replace what they have put it, so we can at least have a pull string for potential replacement over the years.

Im looking to spend up to £1200-1500 for either a 55-65 inch tv, room is quite bright (read Mini led might be better for this?)

I'm team OLED but you're right about not being the best for a very bright room, but it would have to be very bright. My 2025 CX is so much brighter than my 2020 CX was, I've had to turn it down.

I was already looking at the Bravia 7 but that 5 looks a fantastic price, I’ll try have a look at some over the weekend.

I've had an LG OLED for the past 5 years, my lounge is south facing and gets a lot of sun, but it's still not really an issue, it's bright enough for me.

I have a 10 year old Samsung UE55KS8000T in my dining room, that's still pretty good as well, considering the age, that's brighter than the OLED, but the picture quality isn't quite as good as a trade off, so I'd still pick the OLED.

Most modern TV's are superb now to be fair.

In my opinion, yes. I have an LG C5, it's very bright like I said but my room is dark, I run the OLED brightness at about 60% for non HDR content. I'd say at that level it's the same brightness as my old CX was peak! If you got a G series then it would be even brighter again.
