Price Of 172 - Should I Go And Look?

  RB 182
Just been reading local motoring pull out in paper, and a well respected local garage is selling a blue ClioSport 172 on a Y plate, with history and 58k for £3395. The garage has alot of cars for sale, mostly low mileage new ones, that kind of thing

Now i always said id never buy from a dealer, because working for Ford i know how much profit they make, but this seems like a good deal, especially if i can trade in my VTR because i really cant be bothered with the hassle of selling it.

Now id be going from a 2002 02 to a Y plate, so does it sound like a good deal, and what am i to look for history wise? Also, apart from the obvious, do 172s have any faults i can look for?

defo sounds like a good deal, as a comparison i paid 4600 for my sunflower 172 on slightly less miles but on an x plate. Market is bad at the mo (as you prob know working in a dealer) so cars are cheap as chips.

defo get it checked out though as it sounds TOO cheap to be true to be honest.

Look for cambelt change on the history, if its not been done leave it as the engines prob fooked. Expect the usual wear to interior (wheel, electric mirror switches drivers bolster) check for fraying on the cable throttle, check to make sure the gears nice and tight and most of all check all the services were done at appropriate intervals. On a blue car the laquer on the wheels will also be fooked due to the fact that any colour bar silver is a foreign car and therefore has unlaquered wheels
