My first car...

  DCi 100
Picked her up friday night, Thank you very much JD! Lovely to meet your Mum aswell :)

Got lost in the M6 services on the way home stopping off for some petrol, ended up in the truck stop section  Put £50.01 in her, walking out the shop she was sparkling like a diamond! Headed for my aunties of all places for my little cousins birthday.

Got alot of comments about the tow eye, but all the family were mega impressed!

Just afew pics, haven't gone anywhere to do any decent ones but this was saturday morning, the morning after I picked her up.

As I woke up.. half a sleep...

After an eventful sunday morning,

Here she is getting a new battery:

Old battery. Took my Dad's Audi plus a power pack hooked together to get this to kick into life and started! :

Here she is today with the bonnet catch broken:

And once I realised you had to pull it towards you, and not up, the new battery fitted:

While I was fiddling with the bonnet catch to try and get it open with a screwdriver, I gave up. Couldn't lock the car to go watch the F1, so I jumped in it and messed with the interior abit.

Haven't got a picture of the cup actaully removed on the passenger side, but this is what was left after the removal of the phone carrier :( My dad says he knows a guy that can repair it most probably but I'm looking to get hold of an entire new one for the sake of it being un-clean etc. Thing is I could get it flocked over? Wouldn't happen for awhile though if I did as I already have a huge list of stuff to do.

Still has abit of glue so can see a slight hologram of "Cup" on there, so going to have to respray them. Plus sort out the tweeker vent on the top of the dash.

Also thought I broke the sunroof today..

Unscrewed the tow eye as someone in work said while talking about it, some b*****d around here will have off with it.

Love it so far, not really played too much and have only done 35 miles including driving back a good 15/20. Drove it three times on my own and getting abit more confidence, although I've pritty scared to put the headunit back on and play music in it lol. Sticks immense from the couple of roundabouts I've been around, floored it alittle bit on the exit and was great.

By no means powerful, but I love it to bits. Alittle underpowered low down, have to stick more revs on in reverse than I'm used to with the diesel I learnt in etc, but I'm getting used to it.

Hopefully post some more pictures soon,

Alex

Nice motor, I know that JD looked after it well. The only thing it do to it would be to maybe lose some of the stickers from it ?
Sorting out the dash strips isn't that much of a problem tbh.

Happy motoring dude, take it easy !

I peeled the bear alittle bit of the front today but stuck it back down as I was half and half, considered getting the extension lead sorted and getting the hair drier out but time passed and never got around to it. They will all go I think, except the rear ones.

There's quite abit I want to go sorted interior wise tbh, will come with time.

Thanks!

Flock the dash, take all the stickers off this instant and stick a smaller splitter on the front - Then all will be well :) :)

please peel all the stickers off!! I was tryin to do that at FCS!

Also see to getting a proper splitter on there.

Lovely car tho, nice to see it stayin in the club!

  Not got a car
:dapprove: thats some nasty holes :dapprove: should have left the holder on

Id respray they dash bits. Prob get away with a light sanding and re lacquering them.

Get rid of the stickers and the gromet things in the front bumper

Where are the speakers in the dash?

Morning!

Glad to see her looking well, apart from you breaking the bonnet catch :S

The Cup bits weren't stuck on fella, they were under the lacquer!! Stickers wise, I agree. Took the "Team Ariane" one off before I PC'd her as well but remembered you wanted them on for now :)

lol fail for Mr.Curtis! Look forward to seeing it mate, the 182 should hopefully be back on the road by the time I do see it so will take you for a spin to make sure you're well and truly in love with the french :rasp:

Regarding the flocking.. it wouldn't cover up the hole mate, it's electrically bonds so will only cover what's solid, best bet would be to put some filler in there and then flock it.

Apologies mate, I was scrolling down my phone book at 3am with about 25% phone battery left trying to find someone with a car to ring  It stayed where it was for about 5/6 hours till my Dad got a charger back from work, and the Audi strapped to it to get it sorted!

Also see to getting a proper splitter on there.

Thin cup splitter?

My phone doesn't fit in the holder mate and I have no interest of it being in view while driving anyways. Will sort it down the line.

Definatly respray them, after some blanks when I can afford them being so heavy on price. The whole on the right of the steering wheel ontop of the dash, you can see it in one of the pics missing.

Catch isn't broken mate lol, I was pushing it up and like "b*****d come on.." only for it to pull forward and to open! :)

Never been in an RS  I'll pop down thursday night most probably if your out with the usuals, or are you wigan-bound till it's all sorted?

First time I drove it on my own, turned into a side street and gave way to a junction and some women stood on the other side of the road shouted "Nice Car!" :D I have people telling me it sparkles even in the dark, and everyone at work has green eyes.

Thanks everyone! :approve:

Looks nice, where are the smaller headlight washers from, or are they just bungs? As my Cup has the washers instead of blanking plates after the bumper got caught on a kerb!

There just two small holes atm bud, about £70 for the blanks from Renault.

I'm not looking to have them on before I get the front bumper resprayed, where I want to get the wings and skirts on. I'll get them sprayed at the same time then, and get them glued on and bolted if thats possible, so no pikey can rob them. But them I'll need 25mm spacers on the front I think.

Ok cheers mate, i'm not keen on spending £70 on a couple of plates at the moment. I'll just leave the washers in just now and get the blanks next year. Might even have a go at making some custom ones.

Aye it is alot for alittle, but when you want everything perfect nothing else will do.

Will get a qoute from having them smoothed, but it's not my preffered route.

How anyone can drill holes in the dash just for a piece of s**t phone holder is beyond me! shame about that. Nice first car though mate

Because it made it stick to the dash and worked for me for 5 years, through out my different phones rather having to change everytime I get a new phone, only to have it fall off . . . so pipe down.

lol. It's not so much your particular phone holder that's s**t, more just the principle. I don't need my phone stuck my dash thanks.

  DCi 100
Personal prefference guys, this thing isn't a carbon fibre custom made bugatti veyron dash ;)

Will have a look at what the megane splitter is like.

I am sorry, Nick. Must have missed the point where someone asked you about your in car phone requirements . . .

Alright touchy. Its just a shame that the rest of your 'mods' can be removed but the holes cant.

Bit of a wind up comment mate, especially considering the fact that I have just sold the car to this lad and taking into context the condition of the rest of the car!

Take care of this one Alex, it's a beaut!

Looks like this, only less faded :

Thank you Sir, are these quite flexable, as from what I understand the ph2 sport bumper is abit more boxed and square than the ph1 non sport as shown?

Reckon that could go well colour coded in blue?

Don't worry about the holes guys, I've wanted a flocked dash since I first ever seen them, when I wanted a 106! I was always worried about it not being able to be a removable mod but I'm sure someone would snap it up on here and swap for a standard one if I sold the dash on.

Yeah they're pretty flexible Alex, they're like the cup splitter, but less brittle. Tbh I'd guess that they would be a better fit for the sports bumpers, but I'm not sure. They can be had for less than £20 anyway so might be worth a punt. I'd show you at the next meet or something, but my cars buggered.

Not sure about colour coding it, might work, but I'd see what it looks like as standard first. :)

  DCi 100
£20 not bad! Better than adding another £100 to that for a Cup one.

I could stick it on first to see before I get the front end sorted and see. Then get the skirts/wings/bumper/splitter/blanks sorted at the same time, new front end ;)

Would help with clearance then aswell, went down my mates house saturday night and scraped alittle bit. Good job I was taking it at 1mph.

I have to say, that was something that I did not miss! Driving down the GF's lane in Brum, 20mph over the speed humps rather than 2!!

LOL I can tell you've been fooking around with the car since you havent been on the Facebook for a while! Silly b****cks with the bonnet catch :p

Tbh, who needs power when it looks as sound as that! Shane says the same about the 1.2's power delivery aswell! Its like that even in my tank.

Fail Battery btw LOL. As i said before, my test at the end of the month and i may just have to make the trip to see this and yourself ;)

Love you xxx

Awesome first car! Now you have the job of trying to keep it as clean as JD did, good luck lol!

  DCi 100
Thanks guys,

Still in half and halfs about what I'm going to get sorted asap. If money wasn't an object I've have so much more freedom with it!

Yeh yeh its all well and good.

But you can never use the Sentence VVT Just kicked in y0. ;) Or get raped by insurnace companys :D.

I think the wings can wait mate, infact atm its spaced perfectly and i love the stance. Just loose the stickerage! Mr perfectionist.

  DCi 100
Remove stickers
Washer blanks
Megane splitter
Tons of cleaning stuff

I'll play on the cards for now.

I think it's a slight tiny bit not wide enought on the front but thats hardly a niggle with me tbh.

^Washer blanks are très expensive iirc.

You've got a good car there, one of the benefits of OCD.

You've made a realy good choice buying JD's car mate. Lot of time and effort gone into it. Hope you keep it as clean as Jamie did. That car is just meant to be detailed, a lot.
