What be the difference? its £1.23 p/l at my local tesco which is a few pence cheaper than Shell.

Didnt Tesco always do a 99 Ron as their "Super Unleaded"? If so do you think the re-name is just a ploy to get more people buying it?

Two fuel threads in one day?

They've always done 99ron fuel. Buy whatever one you want. You don't have a 1000bhp skyline that needs a perfect blend of fuel. Whack in anything.

It still wont be as good as shell. V-Power has more cleaning properties and long term benefits.
I have a mate who works for Shell Global Solutions (where they develop the fuel).
V-power is best. If you cant spare an extra £3/time then don't bother. I personally think its worth it though.

I'll give you the same pointless answer you gave me once, please use the search.
I did, found nothing referring to "momentum 99". Thanks.

Finally a sensible answer, thank you :)
Im guessing that no one knows what sort of additives are in the tesco 99 stuff?

Fred, price is irrelevant tbh!

hey your money, i bet you buy tesco finest everything too ;)

tesco 99 has 5% bioethanol which is good for power, not as efficient for mpg

Thanks :)

So basically they've just re-named it "MOMENTUM 99" from Super Unleaded?

Spying much? lol

Yep.

I use it all the time. Never have problems.

Club Card points to. :D

winwinwin.
Sam!

you fall for the marketing, "tesco's 99/vpower etc is better" not on a clio it ain't! ;)

even in an ITB'd clio?, I thought and have read that the higher the octane level the better the performance, Some of that Tesco stuff has been tested before and found to be 102ron:eek:.

I always run Tesco 99 or V power in both my Clio and R32 as they seem to run a lot better with it.

if its mapped for it then great crack on, i'm on about boggo clios here

NA is a different kettle of fish to boosted

the lambo's/ferraris/bentleys/porsches/astons i looked after all had 99ron stckers on them, we ran them on the cheapest fuel we could (murco!) never had a failure due to fuel, on an NA car you won't

I've run on all the fuels and tbh on a standard 172 engine, I can't say I've noticed any difference in performance between Shell's, Tesco's or Sainsbury's supers or regulars. I can't really tell if any better MPGs or not as my driving is so varied.

Are the sports mapped for 98 or 95 Ron Fred, as standard? I've got a sticker on the fuel flap saying 98,.. But I've used 95 nearly always in about 5 yrs.

remember it says "recommends" if it said "demands" then its a different story ;)

it has knock control, lambdas and a clever computer, its fine

mine made 190bhp (with a cat) on boggo 95, but CS masses would lynch me if they new that ;)

Get down silverstone and get a tank full of racing fuel from the pumps in the paddock.
-close thread-

just close thread TBH, people will run what they want to run, but you are wasting your cash on a clio running anything more than 95, the end
