You can make a good Serie A side for 78k.

I got Abate in my last pack (best I've had so far), trying to sell him as he's 4-1-2-1-2 and my Italian team is 4-3-3.

Mines nearly there...

First Team -

GK - Ter Stegen (80)
RB - Rafinha (76)
LB - Radlec (77)
CB - Howedes (81)
CB - Sokratis (79)
CDM - Bender (81)
CDM - Rolfes (79)
CAM - Diego (83)
CAM - Augusto (81)
ST - Mandzukic (82)
ST - Pizarro - (82)

Just need a reserve CDM, RB and LB then I can start getting some match time in. Total so far comes to £8,950. Good thing with this team is once the coins start rolling in I can improve to some even better players as there's quite a alot of Bundesliga players.

Also, how much is Daniel Sturidge worth on a 3-4-3 formation? Was the pick of a gold pack I won so kept him but he doesnt fit into the team, epic pace and dribbling he's got.

Buy a formation modifier card for 4-3-3 for about 3k. Abate is excellent. He's still in my Premiership team! LOL

Sold him for 20,250 and bought him in 4-3-3 for 14,250 :)

Winner winner chicken dinner. Here's my current team:

FUTPrem_zpseda98223.jpg

Bench includes Walcott, Balotelli, Vidal, Mata, Mirallas and Javi Garcia.

Still want to make changes to the overal squad. I think Gerrard instead of Mata and Valencia on the right for Ben Arfa, who should link well with Rooney. Then the original dilemma of Vidic instead of Chiellini and Lloris instead of Buffon then either Walker or Maicon RB for a full Premiership team. Don't want to lose Chiellini or Buffon though so think they'll stay. They're 9 chemistry between them regardless of what's around them.

Wow what a team Scutch!

I've got RVP alongside Hernandes for a mix of pace and power, need Rooney and Yaya and then il be happy with it.

I've been really lucky with seasons too, every player i play doesn't know how to apply fitness cards so they're always knackered

2 wins out of 2 in division 1 so far

Yeah I was thinking about Hernandez - 90 pace and quite cheap, too.

Just bought Gerrard for 16k for the bench. Bargain!

Really struggling with tactical defending can only seem to win games using legacy! On tactical it just give them loads of space and taking the ball manually i'm finding difficult!

Really struggling with tactical defending can only seem to win games using legacy! On tactical it just give them loads of space and taking the ball manually i'm finding difficult!

This is taken from elsewhere, but may help:

I very rarely (almost never) use the actual Contain function, whereas I'm constantly using the Jockey button (and Sprint Jockey when appropriate, so basically the two triggers) while repositioning my defenders.

I find that this gives me finer control rather than just holding Contain and locking on, because I can define better where I want to 'force' the dribbler to go, and also control when I move in or back off.

As in real life, players will take fewer risks with the ball the nearer they are to their own goal. So if you're thinking you can wade in and tackle a centre-back or a deep midfielder in their own half, they are understandably not going to let you get close. They'll move away or shift the ball to a teammate. It's only when they get around your area, where the space is also more compressed, that they will take more risks with the ball in an attempt to make something happen. This seems logical. But it doesn't mean you can't force them backwards, harry them into a bad pass or anticipate for an interception.

Some opinions:

1. Most importantly, approach defending as a collective team exercise rather than a 1v1 drill. If you're focussing too much on the ball and not what everyone else is doing, you're going to be dissected.

2a. You need to defend by retaining your team's formation and staying organised, so use the right thumbstick to select specific players and keep your shape. Always be wary of being pulled out of position. If the dribbler cuts inside from the wing and dribbles across half the width of the pitch, pass him on to a central player rather than chasing him endlessly. Maintain your shape at all times.

2b. On that note, use the Teammate Contain sparingly. Don't lean on it like a crutch, or your players will be pulled out of position. Use it only at a strategic moment, e.g. to help contain the dribbler while you shut off his passing options. Don't hold it for long, and don't use it without fully considering the gaps that your teammate might end up leaving.

3a. You need to defend by anticipating and blocking passing lanes. Teammates not under your control can make a reasonable effort at remaining goalside of a dribbler, so sometimes it's better for you to flick selection to a different player and move him into a potential passing lane, denying that pass (or intercepting if it is attempted). Prioritise blocking off the forward passes. The more difficult you make it for the opponent to pass forwards, the fewer chances/goals you'll concede.

3b. Similarly, if you're jockeying the dribbler, always anticipate where he might want to play the ball next. You can 'shade' him to either side, positioning your defender in a way that stops him from squeezing an expected pass beyond you down a particular side.

4. You need to defend by denying options. Thinking one step ahead. This is the key to effective pressing, and it's how Barcelona do it:

pressing1.jpg

pressing2.jpg

The opponent cannot play through you if he has nobody to pass to. If he has nobody to pass to, you can close in and force him either away from your goal or to lose the ball.

5. If the opponent releases a pass, don't always immediately follow the ball. Sometimes it's better to track his next movement for a moment to ensure that he doesn't just slip past to receive the one-two.

6. Know who your strong players are. When you do get close to an opponent, a strong defender can be more aggressive with the 'Push/Pull' feature and muscle them out of it.

7. If you find that attackers are skipping around you too easily... it means you're simply too close. Back off. Jockey at a distance of an extra yard or two away and you'll find that you can react to their changes of direction much more comfortably.

8. Above all, remain patient and wait for your chance to make a successful tackle. Eventually you'll force them into a rushed/difficult pass, or you'll channel them into traffic, and then you can pounce. But only at the right time.

What I've been doing lately is applying pressure, then either calling for a team mate to come in and help while I'm applying pressure, or releasing the pressure button which closes the defender in a bit which may work. Tactical defending is very good but you need to time your challenge very carefully. Don't go for the standing tackle using the button if you don't think you'll get the ball. You'll lunge in and either miss completely, leaving yourself open, or you'll commit a foul.

I am useless at defending, most games I concede goals, my attacking makes up for it though. I normally score 4-5 goals a game

After my last game I'm close to a Turner style disc snap. Though I'd give UT a shot....wft?! Obviously when you start you have s**t players but I thought no probs as being EA they will have a good sytem so you play similar level teams.

Game one was pretty tight although the other team was silver and gold...battle though to 3-3 only for the servers to die at the end...so I had a 3-0 loss with a DNF

Game two was against a team that was pretty much all gold...totally out played them but everytime I did manage to break them down they out muscled my s**t players and ran off

Third game was against a guy with 100 chemistry and a really high rating...all gold players etc and again I managed to pull back from 3-0 to 3-3 in the last min only for his striker to run through bouncing defenders out of the way and deflecting a goal for the win

Please tell me that this isn't how it is normally until I build up some points because there is only so many games I can play where I outplay someone only to get 'pumped' because I didn't get the ult edition or spend money getting more points just to get better players

f**k EA in that case lol

Also don't forget on FUT you can play offline so against the computer at varying difficulty levels, earning coins, trophies and in some competitions, gold packs.

As for disc snapping, I was 1 point off winning a season title online last week and with the score at 2-2 the other guy scored in stoppage time. I threw my controller at the ground and smashed it. That cost me.

Ahh cool..thought it would be like on clubs where it is online or offline as seperate player levels. I'll give that a good cheers x

Anyone recommend me a decent formation? Really not getting on with 4-3-3 anymore!

4-2-3-1 works quite well but uses wide CAM's instead of wingers/wide midfielders. It's also quite cheap for buying modifier cards unless you search for the players in the correct formation.

I'm using 4-1-2-1-2 which seems good.

  UR R26R.5, VW Golf R
I second 4-1-2-1-2 Very expensive though!

Yes. Around 5k for a card if your player isn't in that formation. Best to search for the player you want in that formation.

I've just done a BPL search for all gold players in 4-1-2-1-2 formation with a max BIN of 1.5k and amongst quite a few Peter Crouch's I found Scott Parker going for 1.4k! Bought him and he's currently in my trade list with the bid at 2.8k at the moment

Back to trading to earn some more coins for me now - down to 18k. Bought Valencia for the RM for 16k and 3 Scott Parkers all for 1.4k. Hopefully I'll get what I did earlier (3.5k) each time.

You'll love Valencia his crosses are perfect for me, Got Young as my LM and he's quick but not as good as i thought he'd be.

Was quite content with Ben Arfa, 5* skills, quick and good shooting. But thought Valencia might be a better option. Ben Arfa on the bench.

78k spent on a budget premiership sqaud. Went for 4-3-3 to see how I get on with it. Will give me an idea of what formation to go for when ea sort my hacked account out!

Previously had 4-2-3-1 and 4-1-2-1-2 so should be an interesting to see how get on!

will post team in a bit.

Julio Cesar is a good choice for keeper. Around 2k.

i've got Cesar and he is much better than my De Gea yet much cheaper.

Lindegaard is going for 600 and he is ace too

So had a gold pack with Marco Reus in. Thought nothing of it as I've never heard of him.

checked online and he's worth about 100k

Did that on 12 last year. Made it very rattley. My 2 year old has nearly done this one in. Need a new controller :/

regarding defending i find the best way is to hold down team mate contain and let the AI deal with the man on the ball (because its a fecking nightmare to get past an AI defender usually :rasp: ) then use the right stick (instead of left shoulder) to select which man you want more precisley and then mark out the most obvious/threatening pass.

works for me but you have to get your head around keeping an eye on 2 things at once.

My part time team until EA sort my account out (hopefully!).

Chemistry 9 across the board and bought players with long contracts to get me through without having to use my contract cards.
