Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

Very true! Id bring the clio, just tell the other half you no this bloke with a lot of spare coilpacks nearby ;)

No brainer to take the focus though, id rather drive my works van all that way than I would my car.

I dunno like, just done 25 miles in it, that was enough, and that was driving like an absolute knob. I'm now wondering if Lorna would notice if I pick her up in a Leon Cupra R tonight and just blagged it. Maybe put a ford sticker on it or something, its soooo f**king dull.

I really so like those seats.

Have you got any more pictures of them fitted?

Worth a shot surely?

Cheers, picture of one fitted on the previous page!

Glad to hear its passed!

Cheers Alex!

Exhaust mount has now split in half completely, only done 3 miles since I said about it earlier. Perfect timing :(

Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

Made another exhaust mount, filled it with silicone because that will make it invincible ;) Old one on the right after i prelonged its life with cable ties.

Once again this put the exhaust back so it sits nicely

Mounted a bit lower than before as it used to rattle on the bumper

Fitted a foot rest,

Looks mega, Front end looks very purposefull! Where did you get your sunstrip from I like it, trying hard to find one that doesn't look chav.

Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

Having issues starting the car, so everything seems normal on the dash etc. Only starts when bumping, other wise it just keeps trying to turn over. Once running it runs fine, then if you turn it off and then back on it just seems to start up as normal again?

Any ideas of what to check, praying its the not the starter!!

  Many.
Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

What does it do exactly when not starting?

I'd suspect its to do with your battery relocation, or the battery rather than the starter if it works fine after its been running for a little while.

Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

Just tried it again and it started first time, will try in morning and go from there. Could be the battery draining or something possibly

battery is only a year old though, off the Monaco.

How old is the battery?

Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

I'll say one thing, you know how to build a nice ph1 :)

Parts 'warehouse' cracks me up. Half of Renault in there.

Cheers! I know how to make cars to a spec I like, which in turn is pointless but fun! My parts are running low now, need to break another car or something to replenish my stocks ;)

I cant stop thinking about selling this car, but every time I walk towards it I just fall in love with it again. Its so small but looks pretty awesome under street lights etc.

Well the cars still playing up, after scratching my head looking at the car I changed/checked the following just to get my brain going and to see if anything changed.
Coil pack
HT leads
Checked alternator was charging
Checked battery terminals.

This then caused me to check the wiring for the battery relocation, that i never really made neat/finished to standard i was happy with. Problem being there is not enough length in the original cables to mount it to anything, could possibly look into extending the cables. I found the following very frayed cable,

That rectified the car then started again straight away and did several times, could this be the problem? Time will tell I feel, but at least its now fixed!

Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

Car seems to be running fault free now, stop and oil light came on when I got back off holiday but soon went off. I checked the oil straight away and all was ok!

No real progress of the car, just a few random snaps! First time Ive seen the car in daylight for almost a month. It till get cleaned at some stage!

Waiting on a few bits to turn up to fully complete the dash conversion, that will be the next progress!

Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

Makes me want to hurt you. I'm an idiot for selling it, you're a bigger one for breaking it.

Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

Tbh it looks proper awesome in that top picture, but it wasnt quite a ph1! I just long for my flamer back and destroy everything in my path lol

Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

dmallett - Dan, can I ask a favour, were you running spacers on the Monaco with the OZ f1's? If so, can you let me know the size of them / camber set up and if it had any rubbing, as I have a set of 15inch OZ F1s for track and the set up in the photos above looks perfect :)

Re: dmallett's titanium ph1

I certainly can, 25mm front spacers, 10mm rear. Had an 1.5' camber up front and standard rear. All arch liners were removed and the only place it rubbed was on the rear, this only happened when hitting decent size dips on the motorways. It never rubbed when when driving hard back roads/the ring though!

On both my ph1's I ran 25mm front with 1.5' camber, 5mm rear with standard camber. This has never rubbed on anything so that's a safe bet! But I've always had my clios lowered a fair amount.

Hopefully you make sense of that and it's helpful :) @Cub.

Good mate, that's what I've just ordered for mine.

I love it mate. It feels a different car compared to the 182 but not in a bad way. Got loads to do on it but that's the fun (although sometimes it doesn't feel like it lol)

Well after the ban I have to push myself to naughty things to see how naughty I can go!

Good to hear! It can feel tedious at times, I have a nice little list of things I need to sort! New problem arose today, the boot struts have given up! As ever the car got the last laugh as the boot hit me on the head as I put my shopping in the back :(

I took those with one hand, driving while my passenger slept ;)

LOL! Never forget you flying up beside us holding the camera in one hand, shame youve left us for the mature life now :(
