Just picked up some of the Duragloss 901 from seriousperformance along with some poorboys plush microfibres as I'm planning on giving the car the SRP + EGP routine and if I get chance some P21s to top it off. I'll let you know how the shampoo fairs!!
Was thinking of going down the glaze route...
Any suggestions on the best shampoo to use for the weekly wash, I use p21s as my wax?? Using AG shampoo at the moment, seems good quality but suds are minimal so I'm looking to change.
I've looked around at the suggestions but this one seems to vary so much, I'm hoping to get a good shampoo...
Rich is the Aquagleam a similar concept to the Flash car wash kit that has a setting to spray filtered water for drying??
I have one of these and used to use it just for drying only on my old c2 VTS, it worked a treat and dried so well. Ever since getting the 182 though and reading in this...
I'm amazed that the Jeffs can be wiped off almost immediately and yet EGP needs to be left on for 30-60 mins. Can the Jeffs give similar protection as the EGP with such a big difference?
Should all plastic areas be masked up if spraying the Jeffs then to prevent spray on black trim etc?
So the Jeffs does not need to be left before buffing off unlike EGP?
I've heard good things about both, anyone have their favourite? I use the EGP, but I'm wondering if the Jeffs may be the better choice because it sounds easier to apply?
How exactly is the Jeffs applied?
Cheers for the wuick replies guys. I'm using P21s riz, I think it offers a great look. May not be the most durable but I'm planning on re-applying it every month or so.
Any tips on how the clay is used, i.e. forward/backward motion, light pressure etc etc?
Hi all,
Is there a need to use a paintwork cleanser in the detailing process when using the SRP, EGP P21s combo? I have chosen these products to work with based on what I have read in the forum, but I'm unsure now if the SRP on its own is enough to prep the paintwork for EGP and wax?
I...
Cheers Rob, will probably give him a call in a couple of weeks (when I have some cash!) and see what he can do for me. My car's paintwork seems excellent to be honest, got a nice wet look and good gloss shine to it. Its just in a direct sunlight that you can see some light swirling. Bugs me so...
That's an incredible result I must say. I'm possibly looking at giving them a call to do some light swirl removal of mine. Not much there but I don't have a PC and by hand I think it'd be too much.
Any ideas on a price for wash, machine polish, seal, wax from him? The costs on the site seem...
Considering picking some of the AG tar remover up, how is the product applied? Do you use it in just small areas or can it be used all over before washing the car?
Cheers
Might give this stuff a try too then. Must admit I did find the spray nozzle on the AG difficult for applying, so hard to get it just on the area you want. Having said that I do like the product.
Any particular reason it won't last long Rich? What would you recommend for a long lasting wet look?
With the shampoo I'm worried I'm not getting a decent clean with there being so little suds. Is this right? I probably added 4 caps instead of the recommended 2 in the end and seemed much better.
Hello all,
I've not long owned my 182, but I'm slowly building up a collection of cleaning products. Over the weekend I decided to give the motor a good wash and this time pay particular attention to the wheels and tyres. I polished and sealed the alloys with the AG SRP, EGP combo but then...
Wow i'm pretty much the same area mate! I live just off Aigburth road in Grassendale. I'm always on the look out for 172/182's in the area haven't seen one yet though!
The steering wheel controls are nice to have must admit but that headunit you got there looks the business.
Where abouts in Liverpool do you live mate? Nice system by the way, unfortunately i'm only using the bog standard renault head unit. Does the job i suppose!
Afternoon all,
A little while back I posted a message after I got my 182 back from my Renault dealer following a Lamda sensor change. It came back with a scuff on the bumper!
It has been quite a painful process trying to firstly get them to admit to it, and secondly get it booked in at...
Thinkin of it from a sports car point of view, being able to slip it in to gear without having to fully depress the clutch makes for fast driving me thinks. So I may be tempted to agree this is a good thing!!
Do all 172/182's suffer from a high biting point? My 182 seems to have quite a high bite, clutch seems fine was just wondering if this is common thing on rs models or even the clio in general?
Thanks guys, got a manager ringing me from Renault today about this so I'll tell him I want it in the bodyshop for repair. Has anybody had any bodywork repair done on their 172/182 from Renault? If so what where the results like?
