My First Track Day - Curborough spring course pics

Thread hi-jack! It was awesome! Really great day had by all, with about 10 cars doing hot laps, un-timed in the morning while we learned the corners, timed in the afternoon so we could have a bit of a shoot out. Anyway, here are pictures I've stolen off the guys who had cameras... And...

The least original Iceberg 172 ever! (Plenty of pics)

Been a while since I've put anything in here, but thought I'd just add a few pics. @dann2707, @AdamR and I are on another forum, actually for cycling but with a growing number of petrolheads. Someone had the idea to run a track day instead of a car meet, so Adam got us a day at Curborough sprint...

@dann2707 Dude, it was awesome to meet you and check out the whip. Loved chasing your times in my own Clio and having a drive of yours! Really sorry I cooked your right front wheel every lap I did! Will be doing a post of my own, but that will probably be Sunday.

Yeah man. I'm pretty gutted I won't have the Billies on in time for Curborough, but it will be good to have a before and after on track with them.

Can't wait to wipe the smile off your face when you feel the fury of my 172 ;) Looking forward to seeing this bud!

£30 a piece from ECP for the OEM SKF/SNRs. Bilsteins are long awaited, and it's even worse that they will be boxed up in my cupboard for at least another month yet.

Made myself a new gaiter. First I picked apart the old one. I then used each side as a template and elongated it to fit the Scenic shifter. Then I employed the help of someone with a sewing machine to sew the two sides together... Cue Alix Then I re-attached the plastic rim and fitted it back...

Who works under a french car without some specs?!

Tigerseal or an old socket with a zip tie. When are you going to get a proper exhaust anyway? You've owned it over a month, so you have maybe another month before the Renault one rots through anyway...

This will be the first half of this particular update, the rest will be in the new year. This was familiar, except much easier to paint and clean while they are off the car... I with at them with a wirewheel on a drill to get the muck off. 5 litre cans of brake/clutch cleaner seems to be...

Passed it's MOT today, only 4 advisories. Dead happy considering how wallet breaking it was last year. Hoping to update the thread with plenty of pics later in the week.

Airbag light solutions in the area

I did use resistors, but then I had a tantrum a little while back and ripped the wires off the squib by accident, lo and behold, there's nothing to attach resistors too...:coldsweat:

OMP steering wheel ;) James is over in Basingstoke now isn't he? That could work...

Airbag light solutions in the area

My MOT is imminent, but I've still not had a chance to turn off my airbag/serv lights. I'm hoping someone in the Berkshire/Hampshire/Surrey area can help me switch it off, ideally in the next few days! Failing that, anyone know a local garage who can do this for me? Normally I'd make the trip...

Rear tyres are basically casters, put your nice tyres on the front, they do all the work anyway. You've done more than I realised. Nice work on the paint 'n' s**t.

Bit of a bump... Out of interest, how did you go about shortening the length of the rod?

The least original Iceberg 172 ever! (Plenty of pics)

Today, I took out the Yanoo shift, and rebuilt it on to a Scenic gear shifter. It was dark, so no pics yet, but it's ace. I also tidied up the heat shield I butchered last time I took it out and replaced the mid exhaust hanger which was sagging.
