I did this today...
Most threads seem to suggest the alarm is under the passenger airbag (e.g. picture of it in here: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/ph1-ph2-dash-conversion-full.583827/ ) but annoyingly I removed the dash & airbag to find an empty hole. My alarm (and this is a guess) seems to...
I did this today...
My alarm was right on the floor of the chassis underneath the centre console. In this thread, the alarm can be seen under the passenger airbag: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/ph1-ph2-dash-conversion-full.583827/ Not really a surprise tbh given that most 172/182 alarms are...
Before I paid £40 for the privilege of having the correct size battery despite the current oversized one working absolutely fine...
...I managed to lift the rear of the battery on top of the stop whilst still being able to clamp it down (the bolt with the 13/15mm head holding the battery in is...
Noooooo
This topic has been done to death. It makes no difference as the throttle is not the most limiting factor in the intake system.
Some people who have dyno'd the cars actually found a loss in midrange torque which isn't as surprising as it sounds when you think about it with science.
Not a massive leap into the unknown to assume:
Length of a clio = 3.5m ?
Time step on CCTV for you to move approx 1 car length = 1 second (see time stamp top left)
= 7.875 mph
Not being funny, are ktec coilovers even serviceable?
E.g. Some have the top cap welded or crimped on (permanent), whilst ones designed with service in mind have (for example) an internal circlip holding the top cap & seal pack in place.
Sub standard or perfectly selected for the application?
No more durable, complicated or expensive than it needed to be for the amount of performance that Renault's marketing team desired (which is of course very carefully chosen to sit between a Twingo RS or Megane RS whilst matching/exceeding...
I thought drive shafts were available on an exchange basis?
But anyway, there's no need as individual ABS are available and easy enough to fit.
ukpartsdirect.com used to be good (about half the price of the below link) but the website doesn't appear to work atm...
If you sort brakes out before Sunday (not the nicest time of year I know) I'd buy 4x 172 wheels from you on Sunday?
Also, just thought of this... anyone got a spare exhaust surround?
Odd.
Seen a few in real life and they look brilliant.
Manages to look bizarrely proportioned and a bit tacky (gloss tailgate insert, gloss seat back etc not for me) in these pictures.
That'd be brilliant if you wouldn't mind. If they're 16", straight & hold air I'd be interested. Intended for winter so anything may be of interest. What have you got? Any 172 wheels by any chance?
Makes the R35 GTR quite obvious tbh...
Maybe averages 2hr per map, nearly £200 an hour, sounds like he's not short of customers to fill the order books etc.
Very "normal" for a 182. Albeit that doesn't make it ok.
As Bozo says genuine cat to manifold kit (only £15 or so) to replace the nuts/bolts/springs/flange inserts/gasket. Clean the manifold & cat flanges up a bit with a file.
I'm sure you can ride in a few people's cars at next weekend's meet?
Probably worth adding fresh OEM dampers into the budget when considering springs vs coilovers. Not very satisfying having shiny new springs if the dampers aren't able to control them properly. Even so, springs & dampers would...
Will anyone attending be younger than "nearly 30" but old enough to not wear a hat the wrong way round etc? (or an oversized "obey" hat the right way round, which appears to be all the rage these days...)
Just read this, since writing that ^^^
Nice picture of what a brand new lambda sensor on decent diagnostic kit will read like http://www.cliosport.net/threads/my-182-general-maintenance.759345/#post-10554405
The complete car is currently for sale with the option of purchasing the spares package as well...
Read into that as you wish, but given that it's the private affairs of a family owned race team it'd be impolite to speculate. Who knows, maybe they're just selling up because switching to running...
I'd be following Dan's advise waaay before my own, but regarding lambdas in general...
As you say precat lambda reading should alternate between 0.2v and 0.8v ish several times per second. The exact voltage and the number of times it switches from high to low per second depends on the health of...
172 cup.
* Cheaper to buy
* Less stuff to remove
* Bit tidier & more practical to work on due to no air con
* Much cheaper to do the cambelt than on a 182, if it's due
* Lighter in the first place
* Huge majority of parts are common between the 172/182 anyway
For the associated components (CPU, hard drive, graphics card etc) & your usage I'd say it's not worth it on time/effort alone (backup/restore all of the your photos, music, documents, not to mention redownloading/reinstalling all of your software & all of your settings/shortcuts) nevermind the...
You need both a 64bit capable processor, a 64bit OS and a motherboard which supports more than 4GB of RAM. You then need all your software and drivers to be 64bit compatible.
* Mainstream computer processors have all been 64bit capable for donkeys years (think turn of the millennium) so I...
Renparts?
Renault Spares Centre Europe (RSC) ?
Anyone who is breaking an RS Clio for spares/salvage? Look in the "car parts" for sale section on here for anyone breaking an RS Clio.
All three could be found on the forum.
