10kg sounds realistic, I've just removed the power steering on my mk1 & replaced it with what they used on the mk1 cup racers, not weighed the bits but I reckon I've saved about 15-20kg
Maybe a bit of a long shot on here since it's for my valver :S but....
Got my new engine & gearbox in, all working fine except for the bit that the clutch wont disengage  I'm guessing the issue is the cable, the ratchet or both
I haven't got a clue how to sort these and...
My ones, relisted http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wossner-Clio-Williams-Megane-Low-Comp-Forged-Pistons_W0QQitemZ140337801674QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item20acc8e9ca&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
will let them go a lot cheaper if someone wants to deal outside of ebay ;)
Just done an engine swap on my car over the weekend...never again lol
Details here http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=443273 ;)
Can probably get the same engine minus the new bits for a bit less, just another option as you could look at finding a non runner for a bit less money
Might be easier to find a valver, unless you've spotted 1 for sale
iirc the main difference between the 8v rsi & the valver is whereabouts in the rev range the peak torque come in, the rsi's is lower down
Was going to say get the valver & put 172 widetrack on it
The only real problems are just wear & tear items due to the age of the cars, no big deal in the grand scheme of things.
In your situation I'd definately flog the 17poo, £3k pocket money and a mint valver would be win win all round
That looks like fun, have you got any details about doing that, cost, links??
I'll point my m8 to this thread as I reckon he'd like to do this sort of thing in his Vee, the poof daren't do a proper track day in it  so this may be the next best thing
It seems you've spotted 1 of the original RS clios ;)
2live has it spot on
Value wise, it all depends on the condition, mileage, what's been replaced & what hasn't. I've seen half rotten shitters go for about £300-400 and up to just over £2k for a minter and anything up to £4k for an...
Got my wossner forged low comp pistons on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=140327674225,
if anyone's interested outside of ebay they're £350 ono ;)
Never been in or driven a vee then ;) trust me they take the piss out of any 2.0l clio
My housemate recently had a major service done on his vee at a stealer - Ezra Sugden Renault in Worksop, massive V6 enthusiast - cam belt (engine out job), clutch, oil & filter, plugs, new pads all round...
Railway electricians equipment for you  lol
tbh honest he did spout some other crap about it blowing & why but it just went over my head :S so I just got on with smashing out the brake pad retaining pins  made me feel much better
I think it's definately some kind of motor vehicle because of the paint left on my car and it was on the side facing into the road.
I'll be having a look around on my street when I finish work in the morning to see if anyones car's got scuffs but I seriously doubt I'll find the culprit :dapprove:
Well to say I'm mightily pissed off is quite an understatement
You'll need the full story, basically my driveway is a bit full as I've got a megane 225 in a million pieces on axle stands waiting for parts
I can usually pretty much squeeze 5 cars on the drive & in the...
Not a clio ;) but still a renault
Got myself a Megane 225 in part-ex for my civic and I've got a problem with the xenon headlights
The xenon headlight on the drivers side isn't working, found that the bulb was broken so got a new one, put it in & it still didn't work.
I then...
My valver flew through it's MOT this year, no advisories :D I knew it would pass with flying colours but was still nervous about it :S
Not bad for a 14 year old renault ;)
Got to feel a bit sorry for my mate, the MOT on his vee is up this month, nothing cheap to fix on that bloody thing, but...
